In case you still don’t understand my post was about travelling at 50 in the inside lane.
Nothing about overtaking or undertaking.
Nope, you’re right jake. I dropped a whoopsie on that one. You see, I normally just skim over you posts. They’re the same old “I’m a driving god”, “you’re all dangerous truckers” rubbish. So when I saw your usual diatribe with no reference point in the middle of a discussion on undertaking, I assumed you were with everyone else and keeping up with the flow. But hey ho, I’m a big enough to hold my hand up.
Anyway, on your point on slow driving, I took your advice and asked a copper.
However in days on traffic i did used to pull slow moving vehicles but mainly for the purpose of finding out if they were fit to drive, and one of the main things i got out of this was driving without corrected eyesight and did many many eyesight tests."
So you see, driving too slow CAN be an offence, but at the very least it’ll attract attention from the fuzz. This reinforces what I said earlier about the act not being illegal as such, but the circumstances around it are.
Now, if you want, you can copy and paste from my above reply or you can copy and paste from below.
I, jakethe snake, was wrong
I’ll hang about a bit.
He still couldn’t do them for the any offence of driving too slow and he knew that. He was just using his power to stop vehicles.

That’s just a link to a forum like this. Doesn’t mean any of the responses are actually from people who know what they are talking about or are anything more than bedroom lawyers.
What’s hilarious is that you use this argument to dismiss my points
There’s one reply on it where a bloke is clearly a copper said he once reported a coach for doing 15mph on a national speed limit so his passengers could admire the views. The crown prosecution service refused to take it further. So I think 50mph on a motorway is never going to get you in trouble.
But from the very same webpage you use this to reinforce yours!!
Look, let’s be very clear here. Some things are illegal: exceeding the speed limit, driving whilst using a phone etc. and there are specific laws that will be used to prosecute you.
There are other things that arent illegal: eating whilst driving, smoking whilst driving etc and they are covered under vague laws like “inconsiderate driving” or “driving without due care”.
What you and your new bff dont seem to accept is that not everything that is dangerous is illegal and not everything that is illegal is dangerous. The circumstances surrounding an event have an impact on its legality. To drive down a motorway at 50 because it isnt a specific offence can potentially be as dangerous and illegal as driving down one at 90.
Edit: as to your point on your last post, police have the power to stop any vehicle they wish. They dont need a reason.
I spent years working with traffic cops. I still keep in touch with a few. I know exactly how they work. It’s just a pity there weren’t more about these days to keep drivers right.
Seems some are unsure about things.

No my point is that you can’t take posts on a forum like that or this one as a good argument. At least in your previous evidence for undertaking it was a sort of proper legit source, not just average joe bloggs on a forum saying what he thinks.
Yes I then go on to give the example about the coach because that seemed to be from an actual copper.
Your now trying to say that doing 50mph on a motorway is as illegal as doing 90mph? Come on man get a grip and stop arguing for the sake of arguing.
Again, to call me a Jake boy friends or whatever just because we agree with stuff and talk sense…come on, a bit childish really don’t you think? School yard behaviour. Look them 2 are mates and we are jelous of that so will call them homosexual again…get a grip of yourself
To drive down a motorway at 50 because it isnt a specific offence can potentially be as dangerous and illegal as driving down one at 90.
You are quite correct, driving at 50 can be dangerous but the danger comes from other drivers and not the one doing 50 in the inside lane as I said earlier in the thread.
Just ask any traffic cop and he will tell you the same thing. Guaranteed.

Now I need a Grolsch or 2.
And driving at 50mph isn’t illegal, driving at 90mph is.

100% correct. Just to add it’s the close proximity of a lot of vehicles that adds to the dangers these days as I sure YOU understand.

I dont see the difference between the guy I quoted who claimed to be a copper and the guy you quoted who claimed to be a copper. Both internet personalities who claimed to be something with no proof whatsoever.

You missed a key word out there, “potentially”. You are quite right that 90 in a 70 is definitely an offence. You need to understand that 50 in a 70 COULD be one also.

Oh sunshine, you threw that one at the wrong person! My icon might just give you a clue as to why. BFF actually stands for “best friends forever”. There is no homosexual insinuation in that phrase. And even if there was, are you saying that theres something wrong with being homosexual, hence it being an insult? I’m highly offended. (Not really )

Do you know what, you’re quite right. I shall take this advice to heart and apply it right now. Starting with you.

I’m not trying to make out I know more than anyone else
Jakey’s quote of the year so far …, followed by the revelation he has mates in the Old Bill that he keeps in touch with.
Who would have thought that eh?
This thread is more entertaining than the one that is not to be mentioned.

That has the making of a great signature! In fact…

Jakethesnake knows coppers
Snitches stitches comes to mind
Yeah, loads of them actually. Going back a few years I put many through there Class one and I must mention most were well above average and learned very quickly.
Then in another job I worked along side quite a few. Most were good guys but there were one or two bad uns. You’ll know the sort.
