I’m afraid these things happen, which is sad, but true
but too soon
often the case, I have lost friends and family far to young
love and best wishes to them all
nothing anyone can do, its a sad fact

not anything can be said to make things better
shall miss the lad, he’ll always be in my mind
I’m afraid, as you get older, you see more friends and family go
I understand, but he was only 30 and i’m only 36 
I lost a good mate at 16, which is 50 years ago now
bet it still feels like yesterday
