It looked decidedly busier today, on the M5 travelling from Bristol North and onto the M42.

I wonder if some (smaller) businesses which closed down as “not essential” have started up again to save themselves from going bust.

As far as I’m aware there was never a requirement to close “non Essential” businesses, except in the Retail and Leisure sectors, obviously this meant a lot of other businesses were forced to close due to lack of work.
However I do know businesses that closed for the Easter week due to the lack of work, such as the engineering firm my Nephew works for, they are back this week at least for 3 days a week while they still have some work.

- How can I find out if my work is essential or not?
The government is not saying only people doing “essential” work can go to work. Anyone who cannot work from home can still go to work work is essential or not.

Another bit of misinformation, or at best not very well communicated information. I wonder how many businesses (or workers for that matter), listened to the “stay at home, save lives” hyperbole that we were bombarded with, and closed or stayed home needlessly.
Just like many people are now not calling the emergency services or going to the hospital with non-covid, but life threatening illnesses, such as strokes and heart attacks, either because they are scared to go to the hospital, or because they believe that only covid-19 related cases are being g dealt with.
Coming down the M6 this morning through Birmingham around 6 and I had to actually come off the limiter for the first time in about 2/3 weeks. Very busy like the build up to the usually rush hour.

I think it has more to do with people hearing or reading what they want too and confirmed by the torrent of self righteous hysteria on social media, drowning out anybody who posts factual information.
The same as only being able to exercise outside for an hour or not being able to go to parks, again information rammed down our throats, probably by those living in big houses with large gardens and Police forces going far beyond their remit, although not helped by those taking the ■■■■ out of the access to public spaces.
1. When am I allowed to leave the house?
You should only leave the house for very limited purposes:shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible
one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household (no Mention of a time limit)
any medical need, including to donate blood, avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
travelling for work purposes, but only where you cannot work from home
