Just been told iam being made redundant

That is a bit of a blow… but at least you have been given warning that you are to loose your job. I & 15 of my workmates were made redundant at Stobarts last March. We had no warning whatsoever, we were in the middle of our shift & were told that when we had tipped to get back to the yard asap.
We had been there for 11 months, so legally we didnt have a leg to stand on, plus the fact that I was the only one in the Union too, so they were no use at all.
We wee given no references ( theysaid it was againt company policy! :open_mouth:) nor did we have any compensation.
Stobarts are evil, evil scum & I blame every single person in the company , even my so called best mates who were kept on wouldnt back us up when they heard the news.
I got my own back though by ringing Truck & Driver magazine, & they did a really good 1/2 page article on it! :smiling_imp:

ASDA in Lutherworth pais about £8.50/Hour plus 31.- per dark hour and has as well Shops to delivery in your area,but ASDA won’t give you your Homeroute
Job’s as posted here may give you enough income and security as i would like it with all plus of an employment.

wharty lives over a hour away from ashby and even further to lutterworth. :open_mouth: . also arla are not paying £10 ph they are contracted to £400 for 54 hours a week. and overtime is paid at basic rate :frowning:

I was told a few weeks ago i the place where i work is being shut down and so to expect possible redundancy at any time, i just got back from 2 weeks holiday and my wife has a letter from her employer saying she HAS been made redundant and no need to return to work .

Great eh?.

Jammymutt ,so sorry to hear about this, anychance that the union will be doing some thing about this , also mate have you had any replys as regards a new place of work or are you waiting the situation out until the new company has statedwhat they wish to do.
