Jaques

Give 'em my best regards. Had a few good pub sessions down there with Tish and Shaz. I knew Leslie from when they first got together too.

Another old crony of mine in those parts is Stewart Kim. Is Kimmy still at it? Once shared a flat with him and his missus. That was interesting!

Idly watching an old repeat of "Some Mother’s Do "ave ‘em’ Christmas show from 1976, and I noted one scene showed Frank being driven off on the back of a long semi, drawn by a Jacques Atkinson. That would have been about when I worked for them, but it wasn’t me driving on that cushy number.

I don’t think J Jacques of Acton were the same firm as the heavy haulage mob that drove out of Empire Way Watford, but maybe I’m wrong.

Nice old ERF though. Drove a couple in me time.

J.Jacques moved from Acton to Watford in 1967. I can’t think there were two heavy haulage outfits of the same name (Jacques, Jaques boths pronounced Jacks) in Watford were there?.
I only know of the J.Jacques with the blue trucks, they had an assortment of Scammell, Atkinson, ERF…etc.

I stand corrected then.
