Thanks steve for getting back to me about your dad i new him along time before i worked at Ellisons but got to know better like said on my last post when i worked with him at Ellisons. One story was when he went to Italy with the Scania 112 he had, he took wrong turn, desides to turn round in field gets stuck.Little lad turns up asks your dad if he wants help your dad said if you can. Lad go’s away about an hour later half the village turn out with fire engines, police ,brakedown trucks the lot your dad thought it was hilarous they got him out and never charged in a dime they must have thought it was agood excerise. He loved going to Italy personly i never liked the place.Steve do you know if is old mate Vic’s still about.

Hi.
A tale about Ashworths, on the old road into Hull, there was a flip flop,Brough ?,many a lorries load shifted or came off, coming back into Hull one morning, traffic backed up,as we sneaked by,there was this young chap,Ashworths driver, as big as a brick sh/house,blondish hair with a pony tail, standing under a towering load of wool bales that had slipped good and proper, talking to this police chap. I am sure, that if the police chap had ok’d it,he could have pushed them back on his own!.
Does this ring any bells? it would be 67/70’ish time. Anyone knew this chap? might be worth a pint if you bring it up in a conversation with him in your local pub… Or a BROKEN NOSE LOL.
