I was told they did away with the trailer brake as they couldn’t get it to work with the ABS. I am sure they could if they wanted, but, it wouldn’t have any ABS.

Strange, as we have ABS trailers overe here, and every tractor unit has a trailer brake lever on the dash. Oh and we dont have a seperate ABS cable here, all electrical connections are made through the 1 plug in.

Hi Big Jon!. We have something over here called the EU, that pokes it’s nose into everything.
I think the motto is " Why have it simple, when you can make it complicated" :sunglasses:

Most of our Volvos have these levers whicg are along the lines of what you are describing. Certainly wouldnt pull them on full whack when on limiter or some serious damage would be caused. Handy though when hooking into a trailer etc:-

the first position on the handbrake of a modern truck does indeed apply the trailer brakes, i use it all the time when i,m closing an old extender up, run back at a bit of speed, apply the handbrake a couple of inches ,trailer brakes come on and the rusty old knacker of a trailer finally closes up  i use the same method to open them up when they are a bit tight
