Ist Time With Double Decker

Get in the right hand tunnel for the Dartford crossing

watch out for the low bridges / trees if you ever have to divert off your regular route

most are around the 16 ft mark

if its a curtain watch out for stuff falling off the top deck when you pull the curtains

and the curtains are harder to do

very stable even in the worse wind nothing to worry about

cheers

Don’t forget to check it’s got an Anderson lead if you need to drop or raise the deck.

Change of job, 1st time with a Double Decker Box and little wheels.
Any advice would be appreciated

Many Thanks in advance

I seem to have problems with overheating brakes on little wheeled deckers. Before you say it, im not riding the brakes downhill. Anyone else have this?

Smaller wheels means smaller drums/discs so less surface area and mass to dissipate the heat generated, probably not overheating just hotter than you are used to.

In some places the trailer suspension has to be raised to allow the dock leveler to reach the load bed. Don’t forget to reset it to normal ride height before setting out on the road…

Get her loaded with all the heavy pallets up top, Launch down a long long hill with a roundabout at the bottom tachograph flashing “overspeed” and the speedo showing triple digits…don’t try to stop her, touch nought except the right indicator (200m marker) stay in the LEFT hand lane, Wang the lot full lock to the right and give it full monty on the exhaust break!

Job done you will be a Legend…A dead one but still.
