The RHA don’t like the idea that truck drivers are leaving the haulage firms to set up there own self employed business in so doubling there income.

For years I have been held to ransom by RHA pittance of a rate increase in alliance with the consumer price index so left my employment to set up ltd company.

Get yourself a good accountant pay your 20% corporation tax, pay your vat accordingly and if you have limited expenses then so be it cos your still better off financially instead of working for a firm that just pays above minimum wage.

It’s to mitigate health and safety as no companies are capable of implementing it. At least not in my 20 years in the business. Its a criminal offence to ask,an employee to break hns but not a contractor
