Is there any £50 dentists for lorry drivers

My Golden Retriever had her teeth cleaned at the vets two years ago and that cost £256.

There is a growing trend for a holiday in Bulgaria with a visit to the Dentist. Much cheaper than the rest of the EU.

Juddian:
Round our way you daren’t upset your NHS dentist in case they decide to remove you, you won’t get registered with another.

Before the state ordered national house arrest we even had a disturbing message from them that if we didn’t have regular enough private cleaning we might be removed from the NHS list…i should add that at the time they employed a woman who spent about 15 minutes ticking boxes and about 2 minutes actually doing something useful in your cake hole hence reluctant to cough up some £60 at the time for her to do bugger all, our more recent visit there’s now an east european lady hygienist who doesn’t tick boxes or waste time and does a really thorough job, suspect there’s been a change in management because its a much more pleasant experience than it was.

Our previous dentist who came out of the NHS scheme would clean your teeth at the same time as inspection, his charges barely more than what they would have been with NHS contribution, sadly he retired and his surgery is now just like all the other group owned places.

Overall, with a rapidly increasing population who don’t contribute (and probably never will) things can only get worse and like the main NHS itself its days as we once knew it are long gone.

Some of my friends and colleagues have taken to visiting eastern europe and further afield for more extensive dental work, prices of around 25% what the same work would cost here with care and facilities far in advance of ours, one or two have taken the family which allowed them to have a holiday whilst they underwent treatment over several days, and still £thousands in pocket.

Can see an increasing number of dyed in the wool Brits moving lock stock and barrell eastwards in the coming years.

This’ll be the ones who voted remain then?

^^^ Jesus wept man let it go, we never actually left.

If you need that amount of work doing I’d suggest that your teeth aren’t that great Mr Doze - and anyway when was your last visit - be honest now.

I had the same dentist since 85 ish, he was a good dentist, same age as me, and we always got on well on a first name basis.
The years that I went I hardly ever needed anything done, as I tend to look after my teeth…apart from when I first started going he put me 2 bridge crowns in at the front.
I went every 6 month for a check up scale and polish after that.
Unfortunately he took early retirement,.and about a year later one of those 35 year old crowns slackened off, and was broke at the root…I blamed a smack in the teeth with a ■■■■ strap buckle 2 months earlier, but never reported it at work. :unamused:
I went to the new dentist and I had 3 choices.
A two tooth gap in front of my mouth…nah not happening.
A false tooth plate made…again not for me.
A dental implant bridge…ie one tooth made to look like 2, drilled into my jaw bone.
Didn’t like the sound of it, but I suffer from terminal vanity. :unamused: …so I went for it.
Cost me…

Wait for it.

3 Grand. :open_mouth:
I’ve got my stunning good looks to maintain you know. :sunglasses:
:unamused:

So anyhoo following on from that, this new dentist told us he was going private, and wanted x no of quid a month on direct debit, …only to stay on his patient list. :open_mouth:
Told him to do one,.and we were lucky enough to sign up with another NHS dentist.

Don’t remind me about implants Robroy :open_mouth: , yes they really do use an impact drill to go deep into your skeleton, it doesn’t hurt really but it’s utterly terifying and you can feel every single bang of the impact driver.

What is painful is paying, circa £2.5k each now assuming no complications such as gum cutting stitching etc, can’t blame anyone going Turkey/Romania and the like where if you have extensive work you are likely to save 75%.
