Is it okay to be crap if you are an agency driver?

I thought he was only in a rigid, does he have trouble reversing his car into a space at uni?

Well, today I hear that the company who sent me out in a banger with no working handbrake are refusing to pay the agency. They claim I have driven the truck with the handbrake on to snap the cable. Which is total garbage. Forwarded on the whatsapp messages to the agency showing I let them know asap about the damage and how they sent me a fault code etc. Seems like the agency are fighting on my behalf. I’ll have to see if I do get paid or not though. Will be annoyed if I don’t as I put in a 15 hour shift.

It is what it is I suppose. I knew they were a shocking company and a bunch of cowboys. I should have followed my gut and walked whilst I was waiting for the mechanic/forklift driver. I’ve learned something again. How it would even be possible for me to reverse out of the yard, turn it around and then drive down the road with the handbrake on is beyond me.

On a more positive note, I booked my class 1 training starting in March. And I also booked a 4 day break in Amsterdam from Saturday to Tuesday. Might seem like I am rushing into class 1 - but I want to do it eventually and if I do it sooner rather than later I accrue the 6/12 months experience sooner.

A handbrake cable?

Yeah - I’m hardly likely to pretend I’m probably not going to get paid am I? If you really want nodding donkey I can forward you my printoff and you can look up what sort of break mechanism is on that vehicle from the reg. I’m only passing on what I was told by the agency.

I’ll extend offer of ‘proof’ to anyone. I’m really a bit fed up. I got up at 3.50 am to go to work. I stayed for 15 hours. And now I might not be getting paid. Meaning I effectively paid to be treated like garbage by them.

Go on. Post the vehicle that you were driving. Go on…

Okay - I’m at uni at the moment. But I’ll be able to post them within a couple of hours. It was an 7.5T fridge. But I have no idea what the model was. I can find it from the print out and the reg though. It was a 54 plate.

SCRAP THAT I had a photo on my phone. It’s a Isuzu Forward. However when I put the reg into eurocarparts it’s showing as a 2011. Inside it looked like this: ebay.co.uk/itm/ISUZU-TRUCKS … Sw7p5aT9Lu

With that gear type. And that sort of handbrake. Even that sticker on the gauges.

A transit van ?

I was having some memories that driing class 2 was loads of fun and I missed it. Then I read this all back. Oh how time goes so quickly :grimacing:

Just read this whole thread. What a ■■■■■ start to the job you had, not gonna lie, if i hadn’t seen some of your more recent posts I’d have thought you were a Walt aswell.

How anybody can have such dramas and bad luck along with coming off a shift and going to uni & driving an unsafe vehicle on the roads does seem unbelievable!

Labdrover in Solihull is fascinating. Buy it’s very hard for someone like me. I have to drive in Tom get my pallets off and there’s nearly no room! And everyone isn’t DHL rather than land rover!

Being super carefully today and haven’t crashed! Working til 6am and then straight to uni. Suppose that’s what they invented monster for.

Uni on Saturday ?Which one?

not to good at this reading lark are we

He posted that early this morning. So working till 6 then straight to uni. Which would still be Friday (today).

More chance of uni being open on Sat morning than after six on a Friday though
