The missus put it best tbh. “You didnt spend £2.5k passing your test to be misrable”
Spot on! And then picking cages full of rubbish/cardboard up at each drop, then having to unload it at every drop to get THEIR stuff off, then reloading the crap, and MORE rubbish from THAT job! Thank god I jacked it
A mate of mine has recently left Bidvest after being called in several times on a Sunday (one of his three days off) to give back hours he “owed” them under their annualised hours system. He realised their “excellent salary” wasn’t quite so excellent when you factor in working Sundays for no money. Anyhow, worked his notice got his wages then gets contacted by them, saying he owes them several hundred quid for hours he hasn’t worked. Not sure whether he legally has to pay it back but why didn’t they make these deductions from his final wage?
Having worked for them (3663/Bidvest Foodservice) for 9.5 years until a couple of years ago in 3 different depots (Denny/Larbert/Newbridge), I can testify that all the negative comments towards them are fully deserved in my experience. Maybe the depots down in England are better places to work, but I doubt it. Rural runs weren’t too bad, but the city centre stuff was torture at best. I could write a large list of reasons not to work for them, but I’d be here all night. The fact that you have to work hard is not one of them. I don’t mind putting a shift in.
The only tip I would give you is to look elsewhere.

Most of the advice you get on forums you tend to take with a pinch of salt for various reasons such as someone who in on the job on agency who obviously won’t know the tips and tricks of the job and not get a regular set run and get friendly with the customers (which can make a class 2 multi-drop more bearable or even half decent).
They will generally get something completely new to them etc and therefore dislike the job.
But when someone such as the poster above who has been there a few year (perhaps had to stick it for whatever reasons for that length of time) and would obviously know how the place worked tells you to steer clear then you know it’s dire.
I’m just working my notice for Bidvest, was ment to be getting a transfer from the Edinburgh depot to the Bradford one however Bradford decided they didn’t need any driver at the moment, which is fair enough but they decided not to tell me this for 3f####ng weeks. Managed by gimps I’ve been sent out to deliveries in an 18t then couldn’t going it called the customer and been told oh they can only get here in the van sure to the low bridges.
I think the long and short of it is money good, job s##t
