Infringements points

It’s not a problem for me but some of our drivers do make the odd mistake and then theyre down on you like a ton of bricks :open_mouth:

If the drivers are putting the animal’s welfare first instead of covering their own arses from being sacked/having their licences taken away for breaking the rules then more fool them. :unamused:

Trust me,i would never risk my licence, the money is good but not that good, but as ady 1 says it is more aimed at the repeat offenders

Well I’m a goody 2 shoes and have only received 1 this year and that was when I got stuck in the road works coming out of Harlow for the M11 and ended up going over drive time by…nearly 2 hours :open_mouth: Nowhere to pull up and no services till Thurrock :unamused:

2 last year, one drive for 4.31 and the other for exceeding 9 hour drive 3 times although that is dubious because these digi things aren’t that good…one drive recorded 9.01 and I questioned it as my own timer was 8.55.

When dropping a trailer it still records driving if you move again within 2 minutes…plate, legs, lines and pin doesn’t take 2 minutes BUT it still counts as driving.

i havent had any for a while but most of my driving is now trunk work, plenty of services, laybys etc, but i find it alot more difficult to find somewhere to have a 45 when im doing a multi drop round city centre,i do get them in but its a lot harder to than trunk work is

Ive had 3 infringements this year nothing major, ive had a good few overspeeds but ive not had any infringements for it though

Well…isotrak or delivery notes?? I cause my planner many a headache with it. Phone the helpline and just sit and chill waiting for the call back :sunglasses:

I was told the offence was overriding the speed limiter.

They reset the points at the NFT depot I was working at recently; One of the night drivers ‘gained’ nine points in the first week lol

The limiter will restrict the maximum powered speed
to 56mph (90km/h) for goods vehicles,
You are not overriding the limiter,
so 60mph is not an offence.

I’m certainly no angel but I managed to keep within the rules just fine 99% of the time so why all the frothing?

Me neither. No angel, that is. And I manage to keep within the rules - possibly 99% of the time.

I frothed when I was selected for redundancy based on my infringement ‘score’ provided by a third party analysis company. 10 “infringements” in the preceding six months. The vast majority of which were the silly 1, 2, or 3 minutes and included a couple or three ‘Art 12 departures’ All in, I very much doubt there was anything included that would/could have resulted in a genuine prosecution - even if I’d been involved in a fatal RTA :unamused:

btw - The software used by the 3rd party analyst until recently didn’t recognise ‘split rest’ and continues to not recognise consecutive reduced weekly rests if the driver has repaid the shortage :unamused:

So now, just for the “entertainment value” - I park up outside collection/delivery points if I arrive there with anything less than 12 - 15 minutes driving left

most of ours would have been sacked after a couple of weeks! no wonder you get held up by all the supermarket wagons.

They’re the ones with the common sense-they’re not risking their licenses to make someone else money, and I bet they make more than most tear-arses.

Well I know I do  dont know about the rest…

Self important pen pushing pedants with no practical experience, who have difficulty sitting the right way around on a toilet, treating grown men like naughty schoolboys? :imp: :imp:
Why am I glad that I got the hell out of the UK?

Our company operate a points system across the board. i even got one for having 29 minutes break instead of 30.
3 points are given for every infringement, and after 15 you are called to a disciplinary meeting.
I went on one last week and was warned that my job is in jeopardy, as it was the second disciplinary meeting in a short time, plus i have an outstanding final warning for writing some stuff on trucknet, hows about that for privacy rules etc.
Anyway guess what…no action was taken at the meeting because it would mean i would have been dismissed…so it was agreed that i would be monitored on a weekly basis…on my trip to dunfermline this week to collect a new trailer…i got another one…couldnt find a place to park…went in two services, but they were fuel only and no parking…so by the time i parked up, i had gone 9 minutes over my 10 hours drive.
So i wont be doing any more 10 hr drives in future…i already dont do 15 hr days…dont do 9 hrs off…so i am limiting my future offences…but at the end of the day…i,ve only got 5 months left to retirement. thank god for that.
