Indicators

They give more of a clue to other road users to be fair as they don’t rely on driver input and follow the steering as you say so you can see when a driver is going to pull off a roundabout or keep coming round

Yes - and then someone throws a spanner in the works by routinely driving with front fogs on and a blown bulb…

In that case they’re still not inducating so it’s fair game to pull out and call them as you go

lighting regs are a mess
In my last job before retirement meant having to fill out a defect sheet to obtain a replacement bulb.
if it happened to be in the rear light unit on a Volvo FM you needed a special screwdriver to get into it.
The garage and the transport office, where the defect book was kept, where a three day camel ride apart.
If the garage was busy ,depending on who was on duty, they might not let you borrow a screwdriver to do it yourself
then on top of that some of them got rc if you even stepped foot inside the workshop.
On a different thread i made the point about the strange decision to light up the side of vehicles from the rear like xmas trees, then leave the area from the front to somewhere behind the steering axle as a optional extra.!!
Weird or what?

Off topic but on the subject of blown fog bulbs I was crawling back to the yard one dark, very foggy morning at 4am (a country lane - type road) when an approaching pair of lights seemed to show a car driving on two wheels, like Bond down that narrow alley in his Mustang in Diamonds Are Forever.
I did a mental WTF until he drove slowly by with both his o/s headlight and n/s fog light out.

There’s an indicator fault in some vehicles, makes and models vary, although they do display an UBER sign on the doors

Seems to be connected to other phenomena too.
Cars with drivers wearing flat-caps, trilbys, or knitted hats whilst in the car, rarely have working indicators I find?

Being follically challenged I tend to wear my flat cap a lot , also cuts out the glare on sunny days , but I am ocd about my indicators .

Same problem here but even worse with the amount and brightness of the sun… sorry. All vehicles should have to have proper amber lenses on the front and the side as well as the back. There’s nothing wrong with filament bulbs either, just the bloody lenses.

Well maybe the brain-dead are convinced by their hype. :unamused: :unamused: :imp:

A successful marketing strategy is to sell you something you don’t need for a price you never wanted to pay yet convince you that it’s an absolute must have at a knockdown price - and it works!

Flat screen super duper telly, Sky everything, latest phone with the mostest package, new car you’ll never own on a package you could buy a house with . . . need I go on.

I find that all drivers are absolutely perfect and never do anything wrong or make any mistakes. :unamused:
