In or Out- the EU referendum mega thread

tommy t:
This shower of self servers we have for a government have responded to the petition to invoke article 50 Invoke Article 50 of The Lisbon Treaty immediately. - Petitions

Same old fob off bs imo, we have been done by that traitor sharia may

It was never going to happen from the point when UKIP let alone the ‘Eurosceptic’ Cons, realised that the Leave vote was all about the Labour vote. :bulb:

The view is that it would be political suicide to ignore the referendum decision or try to work round it, and would only compound the alienation from the political class that led to the Brexit vote in the first place.

There should never have been a referendum, it had just divided the UK. There is talk up here of UDI just to keep us in the EU.

Scots shouting about wanting their so called ‘independence’ so they can be ruled by Merkel and Juncker. You couldn’t make this zb up.Meanwhile what’s so bad about a Confederal ‘UK’ that recognises the democratic sovereignty of the English and the Scottish as the seperate nations which they should be.Rather than Scottish MP’s with no electoral mandate here telling us what to do and English ones with no democratic mandate there ones telling Scots what to do.Let alone EU commissioners and foreign EU MEP’s ruling us both on the basis of at worse dictatorship or at best EU state majority vote.

If the Cons were serious about leaving the EU we’d have had a Leaver like Davis or Fox as PM not May and article 50 would have been invoked long before now. :unamused: Meanwhile if Farage is serious about getting us out he wouldn’t have walked away into retirement,at least without article 50 being sealed and delivered, together with a statement by the government regards ruling out any EEA stitch up. :unamused:

the uk is already divided and has been for many many years, the referendum just highlighted how deep the divisions really are
we have now a city class, a working class, an ethnic class even a well off pensioner class those who made a few quid when they had good jobs, with a real pension, and were able to buy there home which will now been paid off so there able to live life to the full, then there are those who are never going to enjoy that type of life as they will work till they drop, they will have to see there wages come down as more and more people come here for work, they will see any sort of conditions or pensions be worthless to them.

so it all depends really what class people find themselves in if your doing ok and have a wife that earns about the same as you do then things in life are not so bad. but if your the only wage earner then you dont have much left at the end of the week or worse the kids today can not even earn enough to move out of home as they couldn’t earn enough to meet the bills

the problems will only get worse as in time it will affect more and more people and more and more areas, it seems the goverments are hell bent on trying to make sure the citys are ok with there new majors and new powers for the citys at the expense of course of the areas that dont really matter anymore

so if you think the simple eu vote caused some sort of division think again its already there and been there for along time

i have no problem at all with the scots voting out of the uk just so long as they dont want it both ways of course, they will have to feed and cloth themselves without any money from the rest of the uk taxpayers
the eu know that is all the scots are after is a deal where they can keep on getting the money from the eu and from the uk government yet in some perverse way they will call that some sort of independence ?

we will need passport controls for the scots the same as any other eu nationals who wish to come to this country, it would certainly mean a jobs boost and wages boost for those who are English born and bred i wouldn’t mind applying for a job as a border patrol around Carlisle
