I never seen the offending post; But considering his very poor use of the language that made many of his posts very difficult to understand, can you say for certain that he was being nasty and uncaring - He always come over to me as quite a nice person so I would be very surprised if he said something horrible on purpose.I think it is a shame he has gone.
There are plenty of occasions whilst having online correspondence of any kind - where “inflection is lacking” in one’s posts.
It has left me following-up on many occasions in the past myself, because something I’ve said in an air of levity - has actually been taken for a serious troll-like remark, and has caused offence.
I would suggest then - If I play Devil’s advocate for a minute here - that a foreign chappie saying something that is taken as an outright “troll remark” - should also be taken perhaps with at least a pinch of salt.
Even I’ve said on occasions on here (regarding Cyclists for instance) that You never hear a coroner say at the inquest 'He died because of his own stupid fault’ do you?
It’s not meant as a troll - it’s just pointing out that if fatal collisions are never the fault of the deceased - then more of them are bound to occur, as they create this air of "Running up the inside of a left-turning tipper truck is the right thing to do at all times - which is clearly not the case looking at the large number of such fatalities that have already happened, especially in London this past decade in particular.
