Im starting to wonder

this thread has got me thinking.
some time ago i was sat outside my local, and two young kids got into a scrap on the bowling green.
one of the mums went frantic at one of the dads. the dad said “it be reet”. she was saying things like “well do something, go on do something”.
he didn’t want to. so i calmed her down, and said “it’s ok, i’ll go and have a word”. so i went over to the lads, had a quick word and came back. she asked what i’d said. so i told her that i’d advised the fat one to take deeper breaths, and the skinny one to keep his guard up.
she went [zb]ing ape [zb].

the moral to this story is. there’s always someone that forgets that they were young once.
then they join the police.

Unfortunately, i still have ‘one of those cars’ with blacked-out windows, the twin pipes, bodykit and the Carlos Fandango alloys, and i’m 45!!

I seriously am starting to think most members of this forum were born age 48 and there first car was a brown Austin meastro.
Christ I spent big chunks of my young wage packets on boy racer mobiles and assorted tat to bolt to it. It’s just a phase for lots of young men. I now drive a bog standard Audi a3.

God I hope I never become one of these miserable old buggers. Live and let live, we were all young once so let them have their fun.

well i’m 21 and i drive this…

a civic estate. old man’s car people say…

well it’s got a 1.8 vtec engine that run’s out of rev’s at 8200rpm, :open_mouth: with 166bhp at the wheels, and it’s rocking a towbar as well, also equipped with a LSD, and a shortish ratio gearbox as standered…

the few tweak’s that’s have been done are mgzs suspention, with rear anti roll bar, (didn’t have one from the factory despite all the mounting point’s being there…), and a subatial exhaust system… and i love it.

“old man’s car”, i left that comment with the vts saxo that is at the traffic light’s…

chilistrucker:
i had a mk5 cortina, lowered, blah, blah, blah, [zb] fast, blah, blah, blah.
i was a total [zb] for the first 2 years, thought i was nigel bloody mansell, i wasn’t, i was a div, living at home, with only my prick to keep. live and learn

we were, (or those that remember) all young once.

Lowered or jacked up.
Thought it was the opposite in them days.

What is the point of the youthful plebs within our society, being able to drive cars? It has baffled me for sometime now, that the above in their golfs, honda civics and Fiesta type cars - usually with the windows blacked out, a sports exhaust and Alloy wheels, fund their wheels. One such numpty has just passed me, he came out of a side road, Wheels screeching, engine revs stratospheric, yet with a distinctly oily blue smoke issuing from the exhaust.Totally needless actions, as I suspect is the majority of their driving about late at night especially Do these Yufs have jobs - or is it as I suspect, that we as Tax payers are footing the bill ■■

They look ridiculous and they drive like Knobs, but it’s part of growing up, How old are you by the way Bah Humbug?

Just for the record Im 36 years of age.

Christ alive if that’s the case you want to lighten up a bit otherwise before your 50 you’ll be sucked into a black hole of grumpyness!

Citroen Saxos! I remember when the knobs who drove Citroen AXs and Renault 5 Campus’ with cd multichangers, aspired to owning a Saxo STI.
When I left school in '96 Vauxhall Nova SRs were the car of choice to kilk your best mate in.
Oh, what happened to Max Power? Every basic car with a loud stereo and tinted windows had one of their stickers.

Nice! The gen Mondeo/Fusion looks brilliant as well.

If someone wants tart up their car, let them it’s their car - only worry about it or give a ■■■■ if they plant it into your motor or garden. The price of Insurance is just stupid now though, the way it is now I can’t afford the insurance on a bog standard £400 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa, let alone one with half of Halfords glued onto it. Will probably be awhile until I manage to get my hands on a lovely M5.

Ah your dream car is an M5 too! I’ve wanted one since I was a kid! Just rebuilding my no claims bonus up then in a few years I’m gonna go for it and get one.

The only trouble is I’m just not sure which one! The roar of the E60’s V10 is just amazing then again the new F10 isn’t exactly quiet either.

I think it’ll be the E60 for me, I always loved the look of them, I really love the ‘power’ button and in a few years hopefully they will have depreciated in value to a point where I can afford one! Can’t wait for that day! Until then I zoom about in my Mini Cooper S, one of the last ones with a supercharger. Its completely insane, like driving a crazy go kart.

im 28 and got this a gsi replica its really a 2.0 turbo diesel previous owner fitted gsi kit an recaro gsi seats apart from a kenwood cd player its still got standard speakers i dont have tunes blasting out as after 10 minutes of what i listen to will hurt my head and i dont drive like a ■■■■■ either i only got it because its good on fuel and cheapish tax £90 for 6 months

Why’ve they dropped the supercharger? I thought that was a best-seller?
My first 2 cars were real Minis with real Mini problems; First was a D reg City E (what was the E for, extra maintenance costs?) that had a shopping list of troubles which meant I had no cash left for pimping; Dodgy subframe, shock absorber, odometer that had stopped at 60k, rust, rust, rust, didn’t like water but WD40 was a cheap and easy fix.
I didn’t learn and bought an L reg Rover (there’s a problem in the name itself) MIni Cooper that was great to drive but with electrical problems galore. I gave up after a few months and bought a new 106.

That is one very smart looking mondeo. Is that a ■■■■■ x sport? Petrol or diesel? Looks cool in White!

They changed the Supercharger for a Turbo

Or this one if its raining …
But for any distance or for comfort its my 530D, win it hands down
