I think Muckles has got it. I’ll give someone a ring when I’ve got the tax side of working for more than one company sorted and ask to go on a trip with them (hopefully paid, if not unpaid).
Only a couple of years English_Jock. You are allways learning- I know that and I don’t want to seem as though I know it all 'cause I most certianly don’t, but when I passed my test, the learning curve went through the roof, peaked somewhat and it’s plateaud a little now - that’s what I meant by I’m board. One day rolls into the next quite nicely and whilst I thoroughly enjoy the job, I can move on with driving and learn a bit more. Hell, I just want to prove to myself I can do HH in the end. I’ve quite enjoyed the roping and sheeting I’ve done. It’s also been interesting on the (very few - two) low loaders I’ve helped load (a bit like the Italian job at the end with the bus ) so this appealed and their’s so much more to learn
I had a conversation today with a bloke who’s done it and doesn’t want the nights out. He said bear in mind your in a nice easy job, where the most you do is open the back doors occasionally. If you spend 2 days in the rain securing a transformer or railway carridge, then you might look on it differently. Food for thought.
I think I’m mostly looking for something that’ll keep me interested. However, the grass may not be greener , so I want to keep my options open.
I’ve got it. Next time TomTom trys to send me down a sidestreet, I’ll follow it - should make life interesting .
