Illegals found in a container

bazza123:
I wouldn’t want anyone to die needlessly, but generally I have little sympathy for them. I’ve always worked and paid my taxes, why should someone just walk in and be given free healthcare, housing, translation services, benefits etc for free■■?

These people don’t aim for Italy or Spain, Australia or any of the Nordic countries, they see the UK as an easy option and I’m sick if it. Hence all the illegals camped out near Calais waiting to get in.

I’m not a xenophobe, I’ve traveled a lot and appreciate other cultures and am friends with people from across the world. People who contribute to our country…

Ha, just walk in. Yeah right that’s just what they do, easily stroll in and take all our money. Its not like they risk life and limb doing the only thing they can to try and improve their lives. Have any of you ever asked yourselves why you are British? Luck, any one of us could just have easily been born in some third world country with an average life expectancy of 40. We’re all the same, all human beings getting by in the best way we know how. Its just some of us had the sheer luck to be born in a rich country.

Spare us all the bleeding heart liberal socialist bs.

It’s called capitalism and nation states. There’s no such thing as a free lunch and this country didn’t get where it is by looking for handouts from ‘richer’ ones.Maybe because at the time it’s workforce was struggling to make it what it is there were no other richer countries to run to.That’s assuming they would have taken us in even if there were.As for it remaining a rich country more like dragged down by the weight of continuously trying to look after an ever increasing level of economic immigration instead of looking after our own.Charity begins at home and we’re not here to look after the rest of the world’s poor.On that basis the Swiss have always got it right even in the case of that policy of self interest having more serious implications than just freeloaders on an economic tourism mission.

Shame there banks wasnt so strict about letting the nazis deposit the stolen wealth in there banks.
Yes Britains immigration system is a joke but to say put them back on a boat as they are is pretty sick they deserve medical treatment but they should be deported once there back to health.
The root of the problem is the business owners and landlords and people trafficers that get them here and use them as slave labour. Tackle that and you will solve a lot of it.
Anyone who thinks everyone who rocks up here gets a house car and a grand a week fole money needs to take there head out of the mail or sun and see the real world.

I’m not saying we should welcome the world and look after them, I’m saying we should show some more compassion. But I’m banging me head against a brick wall calling for more compassion from you lot. Retired 15 years ago, how well do yo think you’d be doing in the third world Carryfast?

As for not getting where we are from handouts from richer nations, hilarious, no indeed your right, a large part of Britains wealth over the years came from pilfering poorer countries. Where a lot of these people who try to get here come from.

can’t imagine the craphole they came from if they think sitting in a trailer/container for days on end is a sound way to get here. Heart goes out to them, but I hope they’re on the next boat home as soon as they’re well.

Odd days:
Funny they never started banging on sides of the container till they were in England

My thoughts exactly…,

Yeah must have been lovely seeing Britain for the first time out of the container patio doors.

You’re not wrong
A lot better than seeing Belgium that’s for sure.

I know you’re being your normal sarcastic self…

Funny how people are quick to mention a free market economy in this instance, yet complain and feel hard done by when the very same free market economy drives down haulage rates and wages…

What really boils my ■■■■ is even when those who are here illegally commit a serious crime /s are not deported after serving their sentence,( the case of the illegal killing a child driving a car and leaving the scene) Because whilst waiting to go to court some British woman(i can think of more appropriate names for her) claimed that they had a child together, and knowing ukba doesn’t split up families, used that to avoid deportation IMO they all should of been deported instead in that case, or the case of those who hijacked a plane several years ago, which was forced to land in blighty where given hotel accommodation and never deported, what signals does ■■■■ like this send out to the wider world ? is it any wonder why we are swamped with them,

They are even rioting in Calais over the best places get on board our trucks, this IMO is no more than a financial terrorism attack on the UK their goal to bankrupt the country because we have too many nimbies , but it isn’t those nimbies who are paying is it?

Most of them are not fleeing persecution or death, more like criminals on the run that have soft touch blighty in their sights as their next victim

What actually happened in the case of the ‘Commonwealth’ was a net loss to the country in that whatever we got in the form of rubber and tea etc just made a few traders rich at the expense of ploughing loads of money into trying to civilise the natives. The end result being those natives then rebelling and kicking us out of ‘their’ countries and then all suddenly deciding they can’t make it work on their own without us after all. Then all deciding to move here.Where the employers are only too keen to let them all in to drive down wages.

There’s a massive difference between the idea of Fordist capitalism as opposed to the global free market economy. The former is all about keeping the money at home amongst the population where it belongs. While the latter is all about throwing it at foreign countries and economic immigration in exchange for cheap labour and kick backs. In order to make a few people very rich at the expense of the country in general.Which is why I said ‘Capitalism’ ‘and’ the idea of nation states obviously working for the national interest.

If it was all about ‘fleeing persecution’ they wouldn’t want or need to get right across Europe and then across the channel to a small over populated Island like Britain.

Is every container scanned for drugs and illegals etc like trucks entering the UK are?

Said on the news containers are never checked unless they have reason to. Guessing this meant ‘‘physically’’ rather than not checked at all ?

Only a selection of trucks entering the UK are scanned.

Is the process the same for containers ?

I don’t know sorry but I imagine so. Scanning everything be it trucks our containers would grind everything to a halt. When the border agency are having a pull everything day in Calais its causes mayhem, because its after check in and can take so long you missed the ferry the ferry company has put you on! They normally ease off once the ferry companies start making a fuss.

Whenever I pick a container up from a port I have to drive out through a scanner. No idea what it scans for though…
