I think the Gardners finally got me

rigsby:
Just to wind this thread up , saw the specialist on the 19th and he is very pleased , " good clean operation " were his words .No sign of any spread ,so no chemo required at all . Recovery will be anything up to 9 months , so I should be good to go by summer . I’d sooner be lucky than rich and I count myself extremely lucky , bits missing but still here . Thanks everyone for your good wishes and kind words . Dave

Good news Dave ! That must have been a great relief after seeing the specialist !

Should have kept my gob shut . I’ve been having a lot of pain lately so the Mcmillan nurse did X-ray and a ct.scan , it seems that the cancer has possibly returned . More intensive scans , prodding and poking before it is totally decided , but the doctor indicated that she thought it is probably back . Ah well , no use grumbling they will do everything they can and I’ll just have to roll with the blows . I can’t have chemo due to my other health problems , but radio therapy is an option so I’ll just wait and see what is decided . Dave

Aye,sorry to hear that Dave.Keep thi chin up,and like Harry says, keep in touch and keep posting pal.

Chris.

Best of luck Dave. The quacks can err on the gloomy side, so fingers crossed, they will be proved wrong this time. Stay positive like you have done in the past 6 months. Thinking about you keeps my mind off my new Colostomy bag - old age - you grow up and it bites you in the whatnot. Jim.

Sorry to hear that Dave, stay positive, you’ve battled it once, good luck

Hello Dave, sorry to hear that lets hope the doctor is wrong !

Bugga. Don’t give in Dave, keep fighting the bloody thing. I’m sure the medics will get you through.

Just seen this. Sorry to hear this news, let’s hope they are wrong.

It is hard, I know. I had a cancer last year and it takes a lot of effort to keep positive. But that can be a tremendous force within you if you keep it focused. I live each day thankful that I have the day and enjoy my family 100% every day! My wife suffered, mentally, more than I did I reckon. We fought together! Hang in there and do what the Docs say. It worked for me and I hope it will for you too. It seems the whole Forum is wishing you well!

Let’s hope we all have many, many more days ahead of us, eh?

Come on now, Riggers, keep yer pecker up. That breakfast’s getting cold.

Sorry to hear that mate, hang in there and hopefully you’ll be back on your feet soon.

Cheers, Patrick

Could you make that four?..

Sorry to hear this fella,It seems to be a common thing that after surgery patients are told they are in the clear only for it to return very soon after as it did with my wife.
Not completely sure why they tell you this after surgery to be honest maybe it’s just to keep you positive to aid your recovery, since my wife was diagnosed I’ve seen many people on different forums ect go through surgery and be told exactly the same as you and my wife were told only for it to make a re appearance within a few months, maybe it never went away in the first place.
Hope you find a treatment going forward, good luck.

Sorry to hear this Dave, But hang on in there , Regards Larry.
