HUNGARO SATNAV.

It does work both ways as has been said. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve heared of nightmares recounted from other British drivers about getting stuck in small Italian villages in the Alps or the middle of Milan and needing police escorts and the like. Who knows, maybe those Italians at the scene demanded the banning of British trucks from Italy at the time. We only dont hear of it now because so few British trucks go abroad, if we still had a 50% market share of our own export work then I’m confident the amount of mistakes from our guys would be as equally large.

Expect Harry Monk to come here soon and tell you that you are talking crap, as British drivers never do mistakes, because they are wiser, better trained, and they wash and do not wear flip flops

orys:
do not wear flip flops

We can’t afford them. We spanked all the money getting the licence.

The Hungarion driver had some 20 0r 30 years accident free driving,i have read this somewhere. It could happen to anyone of us.

I’m sorry but that’s just ■■■■■■■■. 20 or 30 years experience■■? Then he’s an even bigger ■■■ for doing that. I’m not saying I’m prefect but ffs, you should be able to turn up the day after you pass your test and realise that that turn wasn’t gonna happen.

And to keep going with it too!!! At what point do you stop? After the underrun bar has hit, after the front wheel has hit, after the trailer is halfway up the wall, and after the load is coming through the curtain, our hero still presses on! Probably only stopped cos the drive axle left the ground.

Strange country or not, if it don’t fit, you don’t go. Yes it might cause chaos, but sometimes the only way out is backwards. And seriously, is the above result really better than a ■■■■■ of a reverse?

He deserves all the ridicule he gets.

You must not understand this. If it’s happen to me I would even call the cops for help, but they scary of the police, cos the Hungarian cops are dirty ■■■■■■■■■ Obviously he was in panic, out of his mind… his why he tried to do the impossible turning. And, about the article in the newspapers: that’s full of bullsh*t. The local people never ever drove any oversize vehcle, but their f…n’ Nissan Micra gives tem the self confidence to make opinion about a HGV driver… Ridicolous. I blame the local council, too.

I’ve never been stuck like that but its probably luck more than anything else. I’ve had a few hair raising times in Germany when diverting off route to find a damned maut machine. There is often a very fine line between getting away with something and ending up in a whole world of ■■■.

Yes, I dont like the situation with eastern European drivers/companies and what its done to the western transport industry but at the same time he’s only one man and I dont agree with picking on and bullying individuals when the problem is the whole situation, not one man, out of his depth in a foreign country.

what exactly don’t you like about the “situation” ? are you not aware that it’s Western European “logistic” companies that are “flagging” out in Eastern Europe to take advantage of lower taxes and lower wages?
