HOW?

I can’t work this one out. I understand how some guys hit bridges dude to not knowing their height but surely even if you didn’t know your height you must of known it wouldn’t fit.

Don’t think this could have happened on that bridge. The unit is around 3.8m so that would have been destroyed before the container came into contact with the bridge. The driver certainly wouldn’t have been able to wash his hands !

Agree, it would be impossible to do such damage to the container without destroying half of the cab, considering height.

I wonder how many drivers who hit bridges pass an alcohol test afterwards?

Probably 99% but I bet if they did a brain check the pass rate would be very low.

Bit like the bridge then :unamused:

Taxi

I think this photo was taken after the truck was recovered from under the arch, the front wheel of the unit is on the kerb slightly and the trailer looks to be in line with the unit. I suspect the driver has tried to run through the centre, damaging the top corners of the unit but then the higher container has taken the biggest blow.

I would say in my opinion that truck is one for taking the damaged trailer away not the one that tried to make it fit under the bridge.

The old saying a picture never lies doesn’t really hold true.

Without context or all the info a picture only tells half the story.

Just my educated guess.

Although maybe not, hard to tell for sure if the unit is damaged as the picture is rather grainy and zooming it doesn’t really help.

Wind (bridge) deflector kit on the cab looks damaged to me…
