How should i sort out my taxes

Not if not getting any receipts or invoices

Can you not say that you thought they (company you work for) were paying your taxes !!!

i guess you could but when HMRC eventually find out (they will) somewhere down the line they won’t take that as an answer. They’ll be going in hard and dry

From what I recall it is ok provided the the other party has agreed to self-billing.

As an example there are companies like agri contractors that have never employed anyone directly in their entire existence and they would make it clear that all their work is offered on a self-employed basis. In a case like this (I’m assuming this is a similar scenario of course could also be dodgy) the driver would be the one done for not declaring the income.

There’s always a default assumption on here that everything is always dodgy and gives the idea that folk should constantly be on the look out for dodgy outfits. This is nothing like a reflection of reality the absolute vast majority out there are legit and a tiny number of cowboys that most drivers will simply never encounter throughout their entire careers.

The big difference between agri contractors and the OP is that all the agri contractors I’ve come across have more than one contract - they just do a particular job for a number of farmers. I’m assuming, though I stand to be corrected, that the OP has only the one contract for which he is being hired - that’s where the issue of HMRC, bogus self-employment and tax evasion rears its head.
