How much more can you earn driving a "basic spec." lorry?

Conor:
I do because there was a thread in the past fortnight where a couple of our resident Irish drivers said what the Irish hauliers were paying for running from Ireland to France. I believe it was £100 a day.

Blimey that’s £900 a week if you use Irish rules.

I see a lot of Stanian Transport motors where I work on Trafford Park. They have a handful of Volvo’s done up to the nines in bling & artwork, they look very nice but if I was working for them, I’d want to know why I wasn’t one of the areas top earning drivers seeing as the gaffer clearly has so much money to throw around on his hobby. Driver wages first, truck bling second surely?

Is there money in truck shows?

Its a tool for a job! I dont care what I drive as long as its legal and the hourly rate meets or beats my demand which has gone up recently. I am currently driving what they jokingly call ‘the pride of the fleet’ which is a 59 plate DAF CF. The other guys have 63 plate Volvo FH13s or similar age other marques. I am only doing around 117kms per day but getting a good basic rate so they can have the newer, better spec units :sunglasses:

Mate don’t knock a 59 plate DAF CF, that was the best motor I had at last place and was the pride of the fleet too.

Awesome motor even though was a basic model done real good I thought for a 900000 km unit :open_mouth:

C

i do both, good motors and pay well

On my way to a delivery last night, I passed a driver of a very blinged up truck, he was sat down in the ■■■■ covered layby about 30cm’s from lane 1 of a dual carriageway and he was polishing his diesel tank on his Daily Rest… :unamused:

Bling does very strange things to people.

All flash, no cash!!
