Honestly…do we really care! I’m 5’8" and weighed in at 19st this morning but that means nothing. I spent 7 years in the paras and at my fittest still weighed in at 15 and a half/16 stone. I’ve done 275 jumps in total (military and civil) and constantly get told by people who’ve done bugger all with their life what to do and how to do itI personally don’t care what you weigh or what you look like, it’s what’s on the inside that matters and if you were watching my 6 (military people will know what I mean by that) when I was up against it then that’s all that matters to me. At that point you would have my respect no matter what you weigh or look like! Sorry for the rant and if I’ve taken this thread in the wrong context but I’ve had a belly full this week of people telling me how I should look and what I should weigh! We are what we are!
I wouldn’t take it to heart mate, its only light hearted banter. But let me guess, none of them said to you …" You could do with putting a few pounds on you look gaunt" ?
I get that !!

Hi Mike, I understand that the topic is just a bit of banter and, in fairness, I’ve just read my post again and it does read quite aggressive. That wasn’t the intention I can assure you so I can only apologise to you and the rest of the chaps/chapesses…you’re right though…nobody has ever told me I could do with eating a bit more
I had to go all the way to Oswestry the other day for a hospital appointment (I need a new knee but I’m too young) but rather than take into account all the times I’ve taken off in a plane and come down without it, and the pressure that puts on the knees, all they could focus on was my weight so I guess, subconsciously, this thread just hit a bit of a nerve. I’ve put 3 and a half stone on this year due to medical problems (I’ve got an overactive knife and fork ) but now I’ve had an operation to sort it out I’m hoping the weight will come off. I swim most days and can ride (on a pushbike) the 20 miles to work and back without breaking sweat so I am still quite fit even if it does look like I’ve got a set of saddle bags from behind
Besides, on a positive note, fat people are harder to kidnap
