How many of us are ex forces?

I am ex 39 Engr Regt, though we do have a member of the SAS at our company…he of course doesnt want to talk about it, well at least not until he has stood next to you for about 5 minutes!

but not Brits

Off topic I know, but how can the army make people redundant then advertise for jobs on the TV?
p.s. not ex forces

Simple, the rank structure is based on a pyramid, so you have 1 guy at the top and a lot at the bottom. Most of the guys at the bottom want to be at the top and wont leave as it will cost them in pension so they then sometimes have to be made redundant. The casualty statistics since we went into Afghan answer why we need more recruits, dont forget that for every fatality there are 5 or 6 (I have heard up to 10) seriously wounded.

2002- still serving. Only a weekend / casual driver.

Good old ACC: Aldershot Concrete Company, Any . . . . Can Cook, Andy Caps Commandos. Heard them all.   I once investigated an assault on barracks. When I asked if there was any suspects, I was told 100s, I said how? The reply came, “he’s the regimental cook!!”

That’s a disgraceful slur on the Aldershot Concrete Company, aka Andy Capp’s Commandos, or more prosaically Any C*** can Cook! Army food, even in my day (REME 1977-80) is far superior to the crap they dish out at Lymm.

royal artillery 1990-2002
