The typical agency helmet will have many in May.
And June,July…
Only one for me because I refuse to drive elsewhere other than when I’m feeling charitable and even that is for one other company. On agency in the last 10 months I’ve driven for just 2 firms.
I had my first day yesterday, I was waiting an hour waiting to get loaded when i went in which was met with a forklift driver calling me all the ■■■■■ under the sun because I dont know how to use a forklift to load myself as thats how it goes down. The drops were easy although 2 of them i was sworn at by the public because there was no choice but to stop on the main road to offload the pallets. I enjoyed the experience, but it just isn’t for me. I know we all have bad days and that was probably just that, but I’m going back to my comfort zone/what I know with tramping. Have a week with a not so good paying firm then I go with Longs of Leeds tramping after that as I got the job before they even advertised, right time and place and all that! I know it isn’t everyones cup of tea but the money is ideal for me as well as the other bits that go with it. No doubt i’ll get slated for it but i’m beyond caring. Have to do whats best for me, time will tell though
Dont see what its got to do with jobcenters . from what i hear they dont have any jobs , just puters to access internet
This is a sure fire way not to get a job
I always mooch around transport companies offices and everyother visit nets me a job
And the following week i leave
Calm down dear , remember the hypertension issues
They’re only having some light hearted japes about the science of message board coding .
I dont understand it either but my knickers remain untwisted
Well thats 3 employed jobs and a week on an agency for may .
Was going to knock this job on the head tomorrow as i feel like ive been here forever,
but we got some spanking new scanias coming next week
So im torn between popping a topliners cherry and hitting the road for more pastures new

What is your advice ■■
A driving god like you has never driven a Topline Scania ,remarkable
I’ve had four in May also, all via agency! I was employed until I had some heart issues last year… Once that got sorted I went on agency to ease back into it and stayed ‘floating’ ever since. I’d never go back to being employed full time, the money’s ■■■■! Only problem I have is I’m so good I usually get offered a job within a day or two, but nowhere can match the earning potential through agency. Job security? Like people on this thread have said… Leave on Friday, start a new one on Monday Don’t want to sidetrack the thread too much, but while being on agency, one thing that’s surprised me is it seems to be the full time guys who are scratching/denting trucks the most, I’m forever hearing requests for accident forms and the like, as if it’s nothing…
This sounds like a troll post doesn’t it? It’s not, it’s bloody true haha
Actually ive had 3 spanking topliners . but 1 was a V8 ( noisy and rough on the tickover )and another was Gregories (yuk #+!@ brown lorry and #%£@ brown company ) so they prolly dont count
Javiatrix : i hear you , but i largely stopped working for agencies since this Agency Worker Directive nonsense came in , and since this opt out pension rubbish
This is because agencies dont want to use PAYE anymore . im not interested in shell companies or umbrella schemes or any of that nonsense .
The agency i worked for last month charged me £15 to ‘administer’ wages ! Bloody criminals
People dont seem to realise that inland revenue work 2 to 3 behind . people on these dodgy schemes may be paying less tax due to expenses now, but in a few years expect a large bill to land on the doormat
But overall i would prefer to work for an agency so that i can change my days every week and most importantly get thru a good variety of jobs . i do get bored easily .
As you point out the worst drivers are all employed . this is because agencies soon run out of bookings they can send them on
What a dismal attempt at trying to start an agency argument.
Agency season is over. We’re oiling our guns, waiting for the next season. At least if you’re pretending to be agency quarry, wear a pheasant costume to blend in with the real quarry. You stick out like a sore thumb. A sparrow in a pheasant outfit. Loose around the edges and slack in the crotch.

Don’t worry, we’re all getting on as if it hasn’t been noticed
Welcome back Conor, enjoy your walk? Place wasn’t the same without you
James wot are you basing your sensationalist claims on. ?
If u could read you would notice i was commenting on a previous post and relaying my personal experience .
Try taking more water with them next time love
By the way, are you female? Calling me “Love” gives me a stalk. It’s an automatic reaction. I’d hate to have a stonk on if you were a bloke. I’d get over it, but it would ruin my day.
