Yeah,.and that is part of the problem I have with all this CPC crap.
My lot also do in house, but we dont get paid for it,.and it’s in otherwise free time not work time.
In actual fact my shift includes a part day Saturday,.so in my case it actually is in work time.
Some might say why should they pay you for it,.but the way I see it is the good companies (such as yours who value their drivers )do it, so the crappy ones (such as mine who.don’t
) should follow suit.
If the job/industry was any good, the time should be considered ‘other work’ as part of drivers hours, then they would have to pay us for it.
That’s one of my “bug-bears” in the industry too,
drivers SHOULD be paid for attending CPC training AND said training paid by company.
Do yaa reckon they are many Unionised company drivers actually have to reach into own pockets to pay for CPC■■?
Guess be few/far between!!!

There are companies about UK have “driving academy’s” to do just that.
Also the likes of Tesco will cover the cost of drivers licence renewals AND medicals!!!

You, the tax payer paid for my HGV test, but yes, the company pay for license renewal. And eye tests. And DCPC training. And glasses if needed. And digi card.
I’m sure that many companies do the same too.
Well, the unionised ones anyway

I just work for a small family company but I get all the above paid for and a few extras like my passport as it’s used most weeks for their benefit and even having the thicker passport those stamps fill up quick and I might want to go abroad myself sometimes on holiday ha.
