I got a ‘new’ (or different) one on August 13th. On an 03. Odo read 658481 when I got it.
Currently 688■■■.
Low mileage or what?!
04 plate XF SSC. 510000kms. Had 146700 on it when bought in Feb last year.
53 plate Daf CF with 539000 on it.
We have an X reg XF480 with 003000 on it, oh wait, thats 1003000 and it is just about ended its days now.
I’ve a 1997 FH12 380 chipped to 460 with 254984 on the clock… 2nd time round!!! Thats 1254984kms. Hats off to the Swedes they build a fine truck!!
Just had to lay to rest an '88 Scania - head gasket gone along with a few other things…
Only 230k on the clock, is that a record?
my 51 reg volvo has 780,000 on the clock
I forgot to put, my R-Reg Daf75 has 565,000kms on the clock.
54 plate Actros 2544 will be 600,000 k by the end of tonight’s run.
But it’s being replaced next month
The 2003 scania I drive has just clocked 941000 km’s and it still pulls like a train.
My scania topline has done 380000 clicks on a late 54 plate
My 56 plate clocked up 100,000km last week.
I got the keys for it in Feb’ with 899 on the clock.
It only does a normal day shift pattern for 5 days a week, although another driver might take it out on either or both of the other 2 days.
At this rate I think it’ll have done roughly 150,000 by the time it’s a year old.
2004 Freightliner…332,640 miles

Is you motor triple shifted !!
Jeannie the Jinx has, despite her breakdowns, managed just over 490,000kms. 150,000 of which were put on her by me. Since last December.
She’s an 03-plate Stralis. With one 57-plate hub. No, really, they took it off a brand new wagon for her. Don’t ask.
Jimboy: It’s a fuel tanker and it is double shifted. The engine hardly ever gets a chance to cool unless the odd defect arises or it visits the workshop for it’s regular 6 week service.

Following on from this, how reliable has your truck been? Do you seem to spend a lot of time on the hard shoulder?
The only breakdown to actually stop me was when the altenator chucked it at Scotch Corner.Other faults were loss of coolant (head gaskets replaced, then new cylinder heads then a new radiator) and then the clip which secures the rubber pipe between the turbo and the inlet manifold broke, causing a lot of noise and a loss of power.Apparently these are all common faults on the 480XF.

Up to now fairly OK save for the odd niggle here and there.
However this week it needed jump starting on Monday morning after a short run and a couple of hours standing.
Today the brake broke and I had to get Scania’s out to fix it, and then I discovered a broken spring leaf.
I am driving a V reg Scania and it will have gone round the clock by Xmas,( 1 million) it shows 979850 today. I don’t think this is very accurate as it was double manned up until 2 years ago and it has a hub trip meter fitted which leaves me to believe the last owner had to get accurate mileage readings from somewhere else besides the Tacho
