How far away are all electric trucks?

Buckstones:
Our idiot Parliament has actually passed the Climate Act which legally binds us to cut carbon by 80% - work out for yourselves what effect that would have.

They’d already shown the extent of their idiocy in that regard by closing down the coal industry based on political dogma and then burning gas reserves to create electricity. All as part of an obvious plan to eventually make us dependent on expensive dangerous nuclear energy.Electric vehicles obviously being part of that plan.

Nothing at all to do with coal being the dirtiest of all fossil fuels, producing high levels of sulphuric acid (acid rain) and soot then. The London smog of 1952(?), which killed hundreds, was a direct result of us burning large amounts of the stuff.

It’s no coincidence that the heartlands of the industrial revolution came to be called “The Black Country”.

Whilst we’re on the subject, I’ll add that I’m in no way whatsoever advocating nuclear power.

As I recall, burning natural gas produces a much lower level of carbon dioxide. An easy way to meet their self imposed carbon reduction targets.

The London smogs had more to do with the wrong type of coal being burnt for domestic heating not coal fired power stations which were still in use until relatively recently. As proved by the fact that the smokeless fuels act fixed the issue by stopping domestic use of low grade coal.

On that note it’s no surprise that the Germans have chosen to ignore their own EU global warmist rhetoric by going for new generations of coal fired power stations.Rather than make themselves dependent on expensive unreliable ‘renewable’ sources and expensive and dangerous nuclear which they know can’t be avoided to compensate for the drawbacks contained within renewables.

While as I said, unlike much of the rest of the world, the global warmist agenda here is obviously being used to provide Chinese investors with a captive market, which obviously includes handing over the automotive fuels sector to the electricity suppliers. All as part of the long term pre planned move to nuclear that was put in place in the mid 1980’s when the mining industry was run down to date. The wasteful use of gas to generate electricity just being a stop gap in that.

Meanwhile in the real world outside rip off sell out Britain.Where, unlike here,bs eco ■■■■ scare tactics aren’t being used as part of an obvious agenda to artificially create an electricity dependent captive market as a sweetener for Chinese nuclear power industry investors and their puppets in the uk government. You’ll note that fossil fuels are still alive and kicking well into the foreseeable future albeit subject to more refined and advanced technology and usage.

No Lisa, it was all a Thatcherite plan to bring Labour and the working man to it’s knees!

More like a plan to create a captive market and sell out our energy policy as a get rich quick scheme for Chinese nuclear power investors. The returns of which will then get ploughed back into more Chinese coal fired power stations to make more money for the ongoing Chinese military build up.Which they’ll then use against us if we don’t do as they want.On that note let’s make our road transport infrastructure option dependent on Chinese controlled energy supplies what could possibly go wrong. :unamused:

I’ve often wondered why depots don’t have electric shunters? I suppose the shunters would have more difficulty breaking the health and safety rules that they love telling us to obey.

Terberg make an electric version. No idea how many they’ve sold but there must be some out there somewhere: terbergbenschop.nl/en/produc … /yt202-ev/
