How do you open the Binet on a cf?

My tight employer is seemingly content to run our fleet with little more than water - so one of the lads has submitted a ‘Near Miss, Safety Concern’ with a suggestion of how awful it would be if the TC were to learn how the washers have spent the last few days frozen and useless & the windys bogging :open_mouth:

Hope you get to see clearly soon, SS - though the CF filler is a bugger to effectively replenish with much more than a teaspoonful of solution…

WE mix our’s up in a watering can then tip it in

Retired Old ■■■■:
The idiot who designed the screenwash bottle is not the same idiot who designed the front panel.
And they had fallen out at the time and were not speaking to each other.
And it was yet another idiot who designed the bonnet. Sorry, binet!
And he wasn’t speaking to either of the other idiots.
When eventually the parts came together in the prototype it was discovered that they had all dropped a bo**ock, but it didn’t matter because the only people who would be affected would be lorry drivers and, as everyone knows, lorry drivers don’t matter anyway.
And nobody speaks to lorry drivers, least of all lorry designers.

Unfortunately, that rings so very very true :frowning:

the trick too filling up the washer bottle on a cf is as follows,

step 1: go to shop buy 500ml bottle of soft drink

step 2: drink contents of said bottle

step 3: throw bottle top away as it is not needed

step 4: get knife and cut bottle in half and throw away base part as not needed

step 5: open grill as per gogzys instructions

step 6: unscrew water bottle top ( top right and is blue in colour)

step 7: place bottle top part in the washer bottle filler hole

step 8: get watering can or hose and slowly pour in

step 9: once water no longer dissapears remove bottle, replace washer bottle cap

step 10: close grill and sit in truck check the washers work then job a good un

  1. Unless one has a bespoke ‘DAF Screenwash Replen Can’ doesn’t the grille (opened as discussed elsewhere) get in the way

  2. Holding the can sideways initially earnt me a wet hand/wrist/arm (albeit contaminated with nowt stronger than water - maybe that’s why the tight-wads don’t mix it?) from six miles above my swede as it poured from the replen hole rather than the spout.

Maybe I should rub the can for the ‘Plastic Replen Recepticle Genie’ to grant me one last wish to be seven miles tall
