I was in a toilet in an RDC yesterday and there was a sign up for their own drivers saying that some had been leaving bottles of urine in their vehicles and anyone caught doing it will be dismissed.

No. It just makes me happy.Maybe a trucking forum is not the best place to be if you want to focus your attention on peoples spelling.
Just a thought!
As it puts some people off posting on a forum if they are going to be ridiculed for simple grammer errors.A forum is more than just about you. Eh!
An interesting view you have Chester. On the one hand you are saying drivers are getting poor pay because they are ‘animals’ peeing in car parks etc (and presumably lacking in the wit to use a toilet). And yet, a driver that is intelligent enough to correct your grammatical errors is somehow self indulgent and has no place on a trucking forum…
Incidentally, if you can’t spell and can’t utilise the spell check either, where does that place you on the hierarchy of competence?
As has been said ,they dont need to pay more for expierience or knowledge gained over the years.A modern motor nearly never breaks down and if it does it cant be fixed with a wrench or a hammer. We get the market rate for our services ,we could try another firm but they have the same costs as the gaffer that you have now.In the bus game drivers become senior they get more pay then they get sacked for nearly nothing and a newbee gets their job and the whole process starts again.
I worked for a company Drapers a few years ago in St Helens. They paid about 24 grand a year which I suppose is ok ish. Vehicle maintenance was not the best and the two brothers that owned it would pretty much blank you if you walked past them in the yard. Then one day I was talking to one of the other drivers and he was saying he wasn’t getting paid much this month as he had had a slight bump in the truck and he had to pay the first 500 quid of damages. This pretty much did for me and I handed my notice in and went straight on agency. The one thing I’m never bothered about is walking out of a job that treat people badly.

You may have noticed I don’t correct everyone’s grammar. Only that of people who derail threads with offensive and irrelevant generalisations based on their own ■■■ fetishes.
get a decent union willing to do whats right for us without backing down, but unions are rubbish when it comes to that, get somebody like bob crowe,i dont particularly like the bloke but he backs his members to the hilt, apart from that nothing else will happen because us drivers will not do anything about it
Unions cannot do anything for drivers as that would mean them sticking together and that will never happen as proven on these pages every day.
You can give me £120,000 a year and I will back you to the hilt if you want, doesn’t mean anything will change though, except my bank account of course. Until there are less drivers than driving jobs employers will pay as little as they can. Judging by the age of the majority of drivers I see these days that will be in about 10-15 years time.
I sat in markham moor truckstop the other night. I counted 38 drivers in the eating area. None would be under 40 & most nearer 50+. That’s before those leaving before the DCPC comes in.

Like ive said if you want to be a grammar ■■■■, so be it!!!
And in the next sentence you are claiming Iam posting offensive posts claiming lorry drivers ■■■ in bags, pee in bottles and wee in MSA motorway service areas
If your offended, like I said last week then maybe this forum is not for you!
I’m not offended. Not even by your “grammar ■■■■” comments; as I said earlier, language is power and knowing how to use it is not a thing I’m ever going to be ashamed of. I am struggling to understand why you, and you alone, are trying to make such a big deal of the fact that a small minority of drivers are apparently unable to use a toilet. We all know this, we all think it’s disgusting: what else is there to say?
Iam up all night!
How about linking something nobody ie nobody as seen before!
Let me google that for you
yes I agree some age groups do find it funny.
Do you not even begin to think we may have seen that on here years ago
What?? You appear to be responding to something I edited away some time before you replied. But since you saw it, did you Google “apostrophe”?
Well why do you keep editing?
Say what you mean and then, people know where they stand!
A Internet forum is not a hard concept to grasp!
I edit stuff to annoy you.
Bored now, though no doubt not as bored as anyone following this.

So you edit posts, and pick folks up for spelling!
Your not holding much weight are you on a Internet forum?
At least Carryfast puts a argument across for folks to discuss!

Still applies. Neither of us is adding anything to the thread.

Ahem…
Maybe if you don’t start picking up spelling mistakes that some lorry drivers may do!
But then you try to edit your posts frequently when you are proved wrong, then posts would not go off thread!
Think about it!
You took it off topic matey, not me. All I ever wanted to do was stop you going on about ■■■ for no apparent reason. Which I have now succeeded in doing, so I’m out.
How do we truck drivers get paid what we’re worth?
Well that’s an easy one. Stop working for what they tell you you are worth. If you were running a business and there were plenty of drivers around and you knew that the majority of them would pay you just to be driving your topliners then what would you be offering your drivers? EXACTLY!. your boss is not a charity case and the lower the amount he can pay you and your fellow cab happy pillocks the more profit he makes. He will gladly allow you all to decorate you trucks in the gayest fashion going because it pleases you all and makes you all feel important in your blinged up lorries.
There really is no reason on this planet for drivers to be working for rates lower than £10 per hour on days with overtime at £15 per hour after 8 hours. The reason you lot are earning less than that is because you turn up every day and accept those very rates. You make all the excuses in the world as to why you are working for that rate such as, its all there is at the moment and “I’d rather be earning this than on the dole”. Well don’t you think your boss knows this and reads forums like this?
Sorry guys but you have nobody to blame but yourselves. Your obsession with having a CB and calling yourselves Rubber Johnny and driving a peterbuilt are the very reasons you will always be paid buttons. Get over the gloss, get over the chrome, get over the tiebacks and pelmet, get over the rigger boots, get over the baseball cap and get over calling yourself “trucker” dave or Baz the 18 wheeler driver and you might just start to wake up and smell the coffee.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for you to be earning less than £1000 per week, the only thing stopping you all is your education and brain and general acceptance of anything the gaffer tells you to be correct. I have been driving class one for 20 years now and my earnings this year will be very close to 50k and I sleep in my own bed everyday. I don’t carry a tin of Mr Sheen with me and I never sleep in the ■■■■ holes you call home all week so somebody is doing something wrong somewhere and it obviously isn’t me.
Think about it!
