Home brew sleeper cabs

Yes! That’s what I meant by ‘art deco aerodynamics’ :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, I got that. I was just trying to construct a link between the truck design and the user.

In which case you were right, I think! An example of ‘look at me’ design.

If that was the intention then I’d certainly give it a 10. Probably a pig to drive though.

I’m not so sure about the pig to drive. Obvs I never drove one but the old Comet was a fairly simple beast and Pat Kennett used to say it was a real old favourite of his when he was a world trouble-shooter for Leyland in the old days.

Looks more like a MAN than a Volvo to me, as for the rest of it, still puzzled.

Definitely a MAN!

I remember that Atki cab conversion running regularly on the M180 when I used to ship in and out of Killingholme.
Is it still around.?..it’s nigh on 20 years ago now.

Yes still in preservation Steve Parr has it now 400 Cummins with a Jake brake sounds brilliant!

He’s kinda spoiled it by removing the 'Space Cab’type hi roof though.
You sure it’s the same motor?

Yes it has had a few alterations over the years i know the guy who restored the cab about three years ago now and they decided to go back to a normal roof in fact the roof lining needed for the sleeper extended cab came from my spare cab, from Atkinson renovation.

Ah I see by that pic it still kinda has a high roof aftet all.
Yeah I’m all for preserving old trucks, I like looking around them at shows etc, …but not so much at the bad taste blinged up ones.
