HMRC, PAYE and underpaid tax

^^^^
It’s ■■■■ poor service but I think it is fairly typical of any government body.

I’ve never eaten in a Turkish place before, I stay near Perth in Scotland so it seems there are none of the Tas restaurants about here. I have a meeting with my bank manager tomorrow, to go over statements (I no longer receive paper ones and LLoyds TSB online banking has been down for a week now for me)

is it the 3 number 1 letter code you are looking for? I don’t have it at hand just now, it changed recently due to claiming tax credits. but ill get them when I get back

Just to let you know I had this happen to me, I think if it is less than £3000 your tax code will be adjusted next financial year and you pay a bit more tax each week.
However much like your situation they had made a mistake and EVENTUALLY it does get sorted out, so nothing to lose sleep over.Hope you do get it sorted.

yeah it seems to be on the up, the second letter I received said they couldn’t adjust next years tax code, not sure why but it was a blessing in disguise or I would’ve just let them get on with it.
getting more worried about ID fraud now! probably just a mistaken digit on a NI Number entry someplace.

Thats the one but when you start to throw tax credits into the equation, it does muddy the water a little in respect of making your tax affairs not so straightforward.

I know, you ring them up & you have to listen to 5 minutes worth of them telling you that you should be using their web site rather than having the audacity to ring them up.

I’ll never run a Paye scheme again as long as I live, I didn’t even run it when I had one, contracted it out, I’ve still had grief over it though.
