HITCH-HIKERS

Keep it on subject, derailing the thread by making racist comments will only lead it to getting removed… the comments already made are gone, as will anymore made on the same lines …
Other websites cater far better than this one if you want to make those sort of comments.

I remember the time i had stopped at pidou in calais to get some beer, putting it in the cab, and this bloke came up to me asking if i was going to england,( he was english btw) as i checked his passport,(you never know) lol, he gave me some sob story about him hitching from Warsaw (poland) due to him being robbed of his money &cards by some local’s out there,
which i didn’t really believe ,so gets to the port, whilst waiting for the next ferry, the cheeky (zb) starts looking around the cab, then he asks if he can have a beer,
to which i say no you can’t then he gets his own tinny out of his bag, so we board the ferry, go into the drivers lounge he decides to tag along , he orders some food,i thinking well i ain’t paying for his food, and i dunno who the(zb) he is as he ain’t with me,lol
Anyway he ate it,and after getting himself a drink he decided to walk off without paying, lol, the bird on the till asked about him i said not got a clue he, nowt to do with me,i don’t know how he got through dover, but it wasn’t in my truck, never again me thinks

Yikes

Does this illustrate the intrusive and insideous way in which over-hasty & undemocratically enforced politics have distorted our domestic affairs and why many of us are scared off, for example, of giving a ride to a hitch-hiker?

Then I suggest that diversity ‘understanding’ that accepts my culture rather than giving me a punch- in-the-face bus-bombing bombing (and more) for being a Briton in Britain using British roads is required by those that take offence.

Then, if I persist, I should report myself to the PC Plod for being either too diverse diverse or not diverse enough - it’s all claptrap anyway - for laughing at Limey Phil’s post.

If the EU puppets and World Dominators in Whitehall applied as much cajones to managing British domestic affairs we’d have better zip-merging and roundabout discipline, etc by Britons and invited desirables on British roads, etc.

(Typo edited out)

Wow thats pretty deep man! If I had any idea what all that meant  I would probably agree with you, however, seeing as I like your avatar so much i’m going to agree anyway

Keith, if you didn’t see the posts - then don’t worry about it. If you did see the posts - you have my sympathy. :grimacing:

not giving a lift to an unclean person, or a muslim, is my choice.
i’m not a racist, i’m a realist, muslims are a menace to national security.
trucks can be full of all manner of articles, which could come in handy to al qaeda.
so what’s racist about that? it’s called being safe.

At the risk of going off topic and more posts getting deleted (sorry Admins), would you refuse a lift to an Irishman (in case he’s IRA)? Or a Welshman (in case he’s a Welsh Separatist)? Or a Hindu (because, Hey - he looks like a muslim!)? Or an American (in case he’s a White Supremacist)? Or a taxi driver (because he might be going to shoot a dozen people)? Or a Dutchman (because he might be going to murder someone and dump their body)?

Now, I’m outta this thread - enjoy yourselves

no.

like i said, i’m not a racist.

So, only against Muslims then…
Bye…

i just refuse to pick up anybody, i’m not racist, I hate everybody equally…

TTX boy:
I cant understand why people hitch-hike when you can get a coach from Glasgow to London for about £12 return.

Sometimes it’s about money - when I came to Scotland I had only 80 quid in my pocket and I needed some money to start, so splashing that on the plane would not be the best idea.

But in most cases this is not about travel, but about adventure and meeting new people. I had a fair share of the hithhiking in my past, so now whenever I can I am paying off the debt.

But off course as I used to do it myself, I know what to look for, so luckily didn’t had any weirdos or stinky people yet… Well, OK, I had two weirdos and I had to remove one by force from my car, but for all these 100s I picked up I think it’s not bad

I saw and reflected upon the posts within the context of the poster’s ‘meaning’ which I assume remain sound.

I also laughed heartily and thought that I’d happily drink beer with this dude because I thoroughly respected his sentiment within the submitted context which I believe he holds with a sound, well argued and thus creditworthy conviction. Being blunt aint a crime to hang him for when my ‘www-sixth sense’ appreciates a mischievous, honest and kindred spirit.

In the ‘good ol days’ we called a ‘spade’ a ‘spade’, cos we had no spineless pc brigade.
Am I racist? :unamused: I don’t give a toss what people think of me, I hate everyone equally.

Yep, I’ve picked up hitch hikers, either in my car or truck. Meet some decent people, and some less then decent. Always stop for someone waving a trade plate.
Cheers
Paul

Blissy:
My 20 year old (Student :unamused: ) kid loves hitch hiking…last year he hitched from Brighton to Prague and he is currently hitching to Lisbon , he left Brighton Friday morning and got into Turin this morning . He reckons hes never had a lift in a Truck and reckons its more difficult to get lifts in the UK than mainland Europe . A lot of the people in Europe are amazed that him and his mate are doing it as they say you dont get many people hitching these days…he may of been lucky but has never had any problems with people out there . This morning an Italian guy took them through the Blanc tunnel dropped them off in Aosta and then gave them 10 Euros each for a cup of tea

If he’s going to Lisbon and he’s now in Turin, he’s either lost or taking the long way round
Good luck to him anyway.

A hitch hiker is just a friend we haven’t met yet

And if you believe that Bollo, then there are special buses that take you out on day trips

I will in my own car but never in a works vehicle. I’m paid to drive frozen food from A to B not people.
