Not from any court issued fines anyway, since they go to HM Treasury.
One as you come out of Grantham on a52 heading for notts at bottom of barrowby hill can tell difference ,or it could 10 yrs ago as I got done going through it at 50 mph whilst driving for salvoes
Glen A9:
Gatso cameras go by how much of the radar signal is reflected back (they can’t measure the height/length) so can’t differentiate between large vehicles with different speed limits. That will either mean they produce false results which are have to be sorted out by the person issuing the tickets, or it could have the large vehicle trigger set above the limit for buses.
The Gatso that did me for car and trailer at 71 was the one at Aberuthven DC section on the A9 . I’m fairly certain the camera just shows a reflection ‘larger’ than a car, doing in excess of ‘large’ vehicle speed, and it will be reviewed by an operative to determine the correct speed on that bit of road for the vehicle that was flashed, and then a NIP issued appropriately
Even more depressing is the deployment of the WIM systems, but I see they have been discussed here before.
