Is there a good route Chester to Pontypridd ?

  • and is there one to stay well clear of ?
    I heard the A483 was too tight for Artics ?

Hi,
Did you put the route in your snooper? I can’t get GPS in my House or I’d put it in my trucking TT920 and it’s ■■■■■■■ it outside, soz… :blush:

A 49 to Hereford then A 465 over to Merthyr then A 470 to Pontypridd, happy days.

a483 to junction with a5 at gobowen carry along a5 to junction with a483 take a483 from oswestry to newtown .from newtown follow a489 which turns into a470 a little further on the a470 will take you all the way to pontypridd. there are low bridges in newtown and between rhayader and builth wells and rhayader can be tricky to get through

There’s a 14-3 bridge at pontrilas on the A465, if you are over that follow the A49 towards Ross on Wye then take the A40 to Monmouth you can then pick up the A465 at Raglan or the A449 to Newport and use M4 and A465 at Cardiff to Ponytpridd
