Yeh really Dave thats all west midland farmers had was the ol leyland mark when i was growing up

I know where there is a Foden W reg dry stored with a 265 rolls,or has it got to be a Beaver Fin.
I will ask around Fin,don’t expect there are to many around.I will also ask Paul Griffiths he’s got a lot of connections with Leylands as you probably know.

He was ok,haven’t seen him since the new year,he was working in his yard cutting tyres over christmas and new year,a true lorry man,will try and catch up with him soon.

Not guilty of that one Dave ,was a good friend Roy Tyler got hit in the back of the driver side cab whilst waiting to turn in for breakfast,his foot got jammed on the throttle so quick thinking he headed for the gap in the trees some bloke trying to overtake

Sorry about that Fin,must have heard about it at the time,had a bad smash myself which ended my lorry driving,mine was in one of the firms cars,as my lorry was at telehoist having the tipping gear done.

Its a bit close to home for you blokes the same as me. I just go there for the chat and to meet up with some of the drivers I know,also got to know a few more through going there,willl have to ask some of them about borrowing pics when the weathers better.

here’s an old hereford firm whose motors i used to see regularly in south wales,i think they became rotherwas transport?then later disapeared.
oakley is still going, runing trucks on pallet line, also fridges (he took over toms (hereford)ltd) he also had a couple of trucks in liverpool on containers aswell.

so Toms Transport is no more Lofty? They did some work for Wincanton out of Maltby,usually Chepstow or Bristol.The motors always looked a bit rough though

Tom Sexton aka Toms,used to be foreman mechanic at Roberts Transport Knighton at one time.

dave, tom now runs pikadish cafe on rotherwas aswell as a fleet of butty vans and supplies sandwhiches for garages etc, wes (andrew weston) was at toms he was also ex rtk fitter, also had a few of there old drivers aswell
chris tom sold the artics in about 06, then sold the mini buses taxies 7.5 tonners and 17 tonner xmas 08 the fleet was a lil ropey lol but it kept my spanners going
