Sorry Gunner, Graham Price doesn’t ring any bells here. Can you remember ■■■■ Sarul? He used to drive for Hercock Continental. When Hercock’s finished, he started up as a subcontractor for Stokes Transport (ex Hercocks Bulk Tippers). Here is a photo of ■■■■’s lorry which he bought from Hercock’s around the time of the coal strike.

Didn’t Hercocks Transform their old FB88-290 into a wrecker after the old Mandator…
When i was doing some traction for hercocks out of edmonton i went into the leicester depot and they were building the fb88 wrecker.They were fitting a large front bumper on it that was filled with scrap metal to put some weight on the front.It looked the buisness.
The F88 6 wheeler, which had been on heavy haulage until the contract finished with Kamatsu, then became the last wrecker for Hercock Continental. When Hercock Continental Leicester ceased trading, Unity Recovery bought the wrecker for their own fleet. Lovely motor from all accounts, broke Geoff’s heart when it went

hello lads, been following this thread with interest… not much help,but heres my pennyworth; i used to do italy for g&tl holmes international who were based at croft with a proper nice fella called dave speake and can remember him fondly mentioning having worked for hercocks., (- if you’re on here dave, you’ll remember running montginevro pass with me once or twice to ‘keep the running money!!’ and that time your 112 pinged its o/s halfshaft at serge’s pont d’ain, and plenty of nights at nantua and the bakehouse on the old bourg-macon road etc)… cheers all ‘sheffield dave’

On a sad note, Joe Streather passed away earlier this week, he was ex Hercocks, retired last year from Artisan Press.
Died from a brain tumour, R.I.P Joe. Knew him quite well from my time on Artisan.

As for my scanny we’ve got 8 on hooklifts, mines the only highliner.
