Hi, I am Robin Parr’s daughter, Jacqueline. Dad doing well at 84. He will be amazed when I show him this forum, he still talks of those days.

I remember going to the various local farms in his lorry on Sundays. Remember the Henley Children Christmas parties with one of the drivers as Father Christmas. Mum picking up Dad from Paddock Wood and Sooty frantically opening the boot to put in the fruit! Several names on here I remember, I think there was also someone called Strawberry?

Sunday cricket, I think that was for Henley’s, sometimes in Goudhurst behind Jack’s house.

Hello Jacqeline, I remember your dad very well, always fun, six foot plus & thin as a rake. He and Charlie Creasey were night men out of Paddock Wood. Sooty always called it codgel!
There is a Facebook group for the ex company employees “Henley Transport Co Ltd” run by Chris Lawrence ( Brian’s son) I’m sure you and he will be very welcome. I’ll try contacting Chris to let him know that you have been looking on this forum- which he started this thread.
