Anyway, ta for the article mate, have read a few things about Mr. Robinson in said book “moving mountains” proper gent and a true heavy haulage crack!

Pictured here on the A6 at Hazel Grove is an aircraft fuselage en route to Woodford from Chadderton.

Woodford Aerodrome was built by A.V. Roe & Company (Avro) to receive components from its Newton Heath and Chadderton sites, carry out final assembly, undertake test flights and deliver the finished aircraft.

Sure is mate, well spotted! I’ve got a pic of it somewhere where you can see it a bit better (in colour), might even have posted it before on here, will have a look later on.

Chris Miller Ltd of Preston operated this Mack 6x4 ballast tractor.
Nicknamed ‘Bonzo Bear’ it was registered new in December 1978.
