I reckon your right Oily.
Nice one Dean! I think i posted some pics of that unit earlyer here when it was hauling the Russian submarine U137 that got stranded on the Swedish southeastcost earls 80is. The company become a part of finish Havator and was runing up until a couple of years ago when Havator closed the swedish transport side to focus on the Big cranes.

Good day all some great stuff just keeping the site ticking over, the most interesting for me is the train thats had a head or brake fade good to see the windscreen was still in place a good sign the driver lived to tell his story.
As you probably know we are suffering horrific fire storms here in Aus no where has escaped them this year obviously there are a lot of questions being asked as to why and us here all have our own ideas so I won’t go into it on here but i thought you may be interested to hear how its affecting us here in West Australia as our one and only major highway has been cut since before christmas and it docent look like it will be open again for at least another week, there are trucks stuck on both sides of the fire the numbers haven’t been released but I would say in access of 500 are parked up somewhere.
Most are on the eastern side heading toward West Aus the road closure is at the South Australian border but there are numerous trucks and other vehicles parked up at road houses between there and the last road house before the fire on the eastern side which is called Caiguna and the one closest to the fires on the western side is called Balladonia.
This year is the 10th anniversary of another fire on this highway which resulted in the deaths of 3 truck drivers so its understandable the authorities are taking no chances.
The road houses are airlifting stores in but most of them don’t have the best of water supplies .Heres a couple of aerial pics of the two mentioned.
All the best for the New Year to you all. Cheers Dig
Best of the season to you too Dig, glad to hear you are ok, on the UK news the story is all about New South and Vic apart from the occasional map showing affected areas. Really sad to see my old home like that. Fires really never bothered me but I did get stuck for days because of floods from time to time.
I checked with my mate in Newcastle NSW, really worried because I know the fires were threatening there. His reply barely gives them a mention. more concerned with his downsizing into an over 55’s estate and the fact that his wife was in hospital with a stomach bug.
Those road houses don’t seem to have much parking space, bearing in mind the size of the trucks, and the space presumably available to expand. But I do notice that no-one has reversed into anywhere.

Good day David just as a footnote one of the large supermarket chains has just issued a notice to say that shortages are already affecting their supply chains and if the road opened now it will be 4 to 6 weeks before they are back to normal.
The roadhouses don’t need much truck parking space when operating normally as the trucks being 2up for the main probably only stop once or twice while crossing the Nullarbor and they rarely buy fuel as the price can be as high as double normal city prices so just meals would be their main trade to the trucks.Fuel would be at Noorsman WA or Ceduna SA about 1100 kms.

Spotted this one the other day at Beaconfield services, doesn’t look bad for a Renault eh…?Am I right in thinking that Renault refused to make the high cab T-Range available in RHD on the grounds that they didn’t sell enough Magnums in the UK?
Also, what is the 2nd wagon in that line up of Fiats of Ventatrasporti, Patrick? Is that a Fiat too, Doesn’t look like it to me.
Could be very well the case Spardo, but maybe some with more Renault background information can conform that?
As others said, the second wagon is a Lancia mate, they sure don’t make 'em like that anymore…

Cheers Dean, wonder what happened to that Merc, Spaansen is probably best known for his fleet of classics, but that particular one doesn’t seem to be part of it…
