"Heavy Haulage through the years"

Thanks to you, Combi 89, we have another regular French contributor! I understand your father used to work at the Nicolas factory of Champs sur Yonne; I used to drive regularly past that factory in the early 2000s, but understand that either it is now closed, or has been taken over by some nasty foreign investors (Chinese?)

Dirty Dan:
So of to Finland again. Factory closed in Tempere so a Finn company loaded up on friday so we meet up for a change over just about an hour north of port. I know someone will love the finns outfit :sunglasses:

The only good thing about that unit… is the trailer… :unamused:

Not quite taken over by the Chinese Paul, it’s the Germans, Nicolas was part of the TII group, and the decision was made to axe “the French connection”… far as I understood from combi89 is that the site is still opened, but only for servicing, the actual building process takes place in Germany now… real pity if you ask me… I’m sure combi89 can fill in the details.

Was/is there a link between Nicolas and MOL?

Hi, no really links, some customers in Africa used MOL with NICOLAS 's trailer, I found this picture in NICOLAS’s records but I don’t know where it was taken …

Hi, pv83 well understood the story of the ‘‘end’’ of NICOLAS …
TII in Germany did not sold NICOLAS but stopped engineering and workshops … now, it’s only 30 people working for After Sales Service Department … without sale anything … so the end is very close …
I have been working in Nicolas from 1986 to 2019, I was a designer and workedon lot’s of special projects … like the TRACTOMAS or last COLLET Girder Bridge with our german colleagues from Scheuerle …
Stop talking, some new pictures …for your eyes
