Hi Danne,
my daughter is in the Black Forest at the moment and she sent a picture of snow on the ground there as well.
Cheers for the pictures.

combi89 might recognise some of the following…
Hi pv83,
I have a strong competitor for old NICOLAS pictures , the first one I never saw it, very rare …
For the STSI convoy with Pacific, I remember when I started to work in NICOLAS in 1986, we had this heavy truck in the ‘‘junkyard’’ of the factory , with another one coming from Mayer at Nancy …
I thought I had time to take a pictures of them but one day, they disappeared …
I learned too late my company offered them to a collector of military trucks
Stop speaking … now new pictures
Great pic’s Combi, as mentioned earlier in the thread it is a pity that our dear departed friend Saviem ( John Goodreid ) is not with us to view these wonderful images , Cheer’s Pete

Nostalgic pic of the week…
Even if I was already a truck fan at the age of 7-8 (early sixties), I strangely have no recollection of seeing the Pacifics on the road. Besides, I perfectly remember big ex-WW II wreckers such as Diamond-Ts, or Ward-La France.
Never seen on the road, only in our junkyard … or on pictures like the followings …
Just think that, nowadays, such big diggers are mover at the speed of a motor car by 750 bhp trucks!

The Allelys Group now comprises the following five companies and divisions: Heavy-lift and Projects, Installations, Heavy Haulage, General Haulage & Palletways, Warehousing & Storage.
In June 2014 Allelys General Haulage joined forces with Palletways and we now successfully run a dedicated fleet of vehicles ranging from 3.5t vans to 44t HGV’s, offering our customers tailor made tariffs incorporating 5 palletised sizes across 2 service levels.

They’ve got a new girder trailer, not sure about the specifications, but it’s a impressive sight!
I was in the yard of Leicester Heavy Haulage the other day and I had a wee chat with one the older hands, turned out he used to work for ALE from the beginning on, he was the main driver on those big massive Fauns… anyway, now that ALE is being taken over by Mammoet, he reckoned all the girder trailers are being shipped out to the continent of even further afield, leaving only Allely’s and Collet’s left who can take on these sort of jobs…
