Handbags at work

West moor farm. I’ve been there a few times, not had a problem there myself.

When I was doing agency work a few years ago

I do believe this comment should be removed as its expected of an agency driver

Just Kidding as I have done some agency work

Someone else has told me they have never had any problems before when they have been. Maybe the guy was having a bad day and what may have seen I was pushing in pushed him over the edge. I know I can argue with my own shadow in the dead of night with no moon but this time I do believe I wasn’t doing anything wrong I just wanted to know the procedure of what goes off down there. I don’t normally hold a grudge so next time I go I’ll be in the que and give my collection notes n see how he reacts. It’s not the end of the world

I accidently went the wrong lane at an RDC once. I wasn’t even doing work for them, it was for a maintaince contractor working on their site and the first time I’d ever been there, plus the ground was covered in snow and the lane markings were not visible. There were two lanes side by side, both ended up the other side of the gate and the only reasoning I could see they were there was to “fasttrack” company vehicles through… as there were no other vehicles around I wouldn’t have thought it mattered much, but anyone would think I’d murdered the security guards mother the way he talked to me.
Quick phone call to my customer inside the RDC and they downed tools and threatened to leave the site unless an apology was made and I was allowed in. Little hitler didn’t look impressed, but I gave him a cheery wave as I went in.

So come on guys what would you do?

S’alright minimum wage monkey, take all the time you want I’m on £14 an hour.

I can honestly say I have never in 28 years had grief off any staff at delivery points, I keep hearing about these ignorant staff members at places and even they have been ok with me when I’ve been.
Not directed at the OP but some drivers just seem to attract the bad side of these people.

Maybe or maybe it’s because I don’t expect to be treated like a dog or something someone has stepped in. I don’t mind being called drive or mate, pal but whistle as you would a dog n I give them something to think about. I once turned round looking around on the floor and under my truck. Bloke looks at me funny n walks over, me mumbling to myself “I can’t find it” asks me what I was doing. I said I was looking for the dog you was whistling at. He did see the funny side and said sorry.

Where all human n we all have bad days but some people don’t do I once they do it all the time n don’t like it when you give it back to them.

Best one I had was when doing agency work at P&H.

Got to this tesco shop and it was a pig of a place. No designated loading area. Right next to a round about surrounded by double yellows. I just parked the wagon on the pavement. Me and the 2nd man wasn’t going to be long.

Get one cage in the door and the tesco mangers comes rattling down “she’s here, you need to go speak to her”

This women had come into the shop shouting and barking about where I had parked. Now , as stated it was a crappie place to get and I parked as best as I could.

This lady, now outside, starts rattling off how Stobarts and Tesco had agreed never to send wagons here during certain times and produced and book with signed papers (could have been fake dunno) and I’ll be getting the sack.

I kindly pointed to the name on the side of the wagon. I don’t work for either of them companies Miss, please tell me where I should park.

As soon as she started to speak , a busy car came past and drive right past us. I then pointed at them and said “even they don’t care”

What would have took 10-15 mins turned into 1hr of banging my head against a brick wall.

sinclair89 - that Tesco Express wasn’t in the Fleetwood area was it, by per chance? I got filmed by & a bollocking off some old woman at a store that was similar to the one you described.

Bloody place has one space outside the shop just big enough for one wagon, but is also shared by cars. So your chances of turning up and finding it all clear after the 8am curfew were next to none. I was doing milk deliveries, so parked on the double yellows (although doing no harm) a bit further up the road whilst I quickly wheeled the 2 tets of milk into the shop (5 minute job). She said I was supposed to sit & wait until the space outside the shop was clear, to which I told her I don’t have an hour or so to spare on one drop & to leave me alone and direct her complaints towards Tesco for opening a store with no loading bay then wanting 3-5 HGV deliveries every morning :unamused:

I think so mate. But it was about 3 years ago now like.

She mentioned my accent (scouse) and she went “my husband is from two dogs fightin’- Huyton” like I was meant to be impressed or something.

Brilliant

What boils my urine is someone snapping their fingers at me. One of the very few occasions I’ve lost my temper at work.

Many moons ago my girlfriends sister was a waitress in an upmarket restaurant. One evening a particularly annoying customer kept snapping his fingers to attract her attention. Finally at the end of her tether she announced in a loud voice to a hushed restaurant “it’ll take more than two fingers to ■■■■■■■■■■■■!”

the maoster:
“it’ll take more than two fingers to ■■■■■■■■■■■■!”

At which point I’d have clapped my hands (in the calling for a servent manner, not the round of applause manner) and politely asked, “would two hands do it?” :stuck_out_tongue:

Taking photos of my truck and asking for my name. Told me he’s ringing my boss and all this

i love it when they do that, i give them the bosses number, then the phone in my cab rings, i answer and then to see the look on there faces   , yes its me im the boss now [zb] off

I know a couple who used to have a busy florists and the Mrs did the flowers and my mate used to deliver them.

Anyway he went to a poncy block of flats one day and the woman client kicked off about the delivery being late and the display not being good enough for the money etc etc.

Said she was going to ring the boss to complain…my mate said that’d be ok but could she wait a couple hours so he could be back to answer the phone.

I always smile when I remember this and wish I was as quick to reply.
