Had my first accident the otherday

brados:
A traffic copper gave me a bit of advice donkeys years ago that still stands true today and I still follow it now, it was “always leave enough room to get out if the vehicle in front breaks down”, its simple but it works, in traffic or otherwise. I have done it for so many years now that I don’t even think about it. I have been barracked about it when parking sometimes (ferries/parks etc) but who cares!

It’s called “wheels to tarmac” nowadays and they teach it for all driving tests. ie: you should be able to see tarmac between your vehicle and the one in front, that should give you enough room to manoeuvre around.

Also black to black - ie the black of the tyres touching the black of the tarmac.

No biggy it happens to everyone I once took the back end off a transit he wasn’t to happy lol
