Indeed. I am financially secure, have been for years well before my 50s so I work for who I want when I want and no way in hell would I put up with the crap he does, although I suspect much of it is self inflicted as no one driver can consistently have so much drama and things go wrong every single week.

I live in East Yorkshire which is in the 10 poorest regions in Northern Europe, I’m far from rich and I became financially secure whilst still on typical general haulage rates paid in Hull that most here wouldn’t get out of bed for in most of the rest of the UK. Don’t need to have loads of money to be financially secure, you just need to spend less than you earn, only buy what you can afford and not owe people. Even a few years of that and saving/investing some of your wages will see you not needing to worry about cash and I’ve been doing it for 20.

very wise words Conor, me and her indoors have followed in your path, working class people who in our teens didnt have a pot to pish in… brought three kids up and over the years through saving and never borrowing have got ourselves a little nest egg
