Could have at least made the bed before they took the photo , in all serious hope you are ok and back to work soon.
Thank god that;
A - You are ok.
B - There was nobody next to you when you went over…(there wasn’t was there?! )
C - Nobody coming the other way hit your trailer.
Thats handy i dont think you really wanted to do that fat lad, your getting good at dropping trailers
At least your ok and didnt get hurt in any way, i bet the ride home in the police volvo was more comfy than that Daf
Look forward to some of the replys somewhere else
glad your ok mate,
going over on the drivers side i’d be more worried about things coming loose in the cab and whacking me, rather than the road although that would be pretty bad i guess. did you get hit by a fridge or tv etc?
did you know you were going over straight away or was it as the n/s wheels were leaving the ground before you knew. or was it normal lane change lean followed by a jolt as the now free load hit the side of the box? not having a pop, but you never know were the limit is until you’ve crossed it, so did it lean alot more than you’re used too or not?

■■■■ your right, well he definatly had a more comfy ride in the cop car then
This actually looks worse than it actually seems? Most drivers who are toppled over like this have a minimal chance of survival. And to top it all the tractor landed on the drivers side. Worst scenario. Plus, you’ve got a heavy load behind you pushing you along while tractor is on it’s side and no brakes to stop you. Hope you’re OK.
■■■■ glad ure ok mate !
must have been a scarry ride , also handy you have witness for police/boss ! lol
Hope you okay matey i certaintley wouldn’t like to be in that position!
Josh
Hope you are ok mate, looks nasty that!
same as every one else, glad your ok mate.
we do alot of scrap metal, in boxes too, i bloody hate carrying it, especially if its been loaded at 1 of the yards, where they take the box off, and tip it up too load, then put it back on after. never quite feel safe, with 1 of those on. i feel a fool creeping round roundabouts, at 10-15mph, gripping the wheel tighter than normal.
Looks like the Skelly was in closed up position when it should have been extended to laden weight position for stability!

take another look at the pics ■■■■■■■■, it’s a 40 foot box
how do you run with the skelly in the “closed” position with a 40 footer?

Ok thought it was a 20ft box of “Scrap Metal”. If it was a 40ft box of “Scrap Metal” it would have been overweight so hope it was scrap paper!
Picture was a bit dark to tell it was a 40ft Container!
We all make mistakes but was no need for bad language!
Hope you can accept an apology.

i pull containers around the country subbing for the same company as El Sumo, trust me, you can get 40’ containers full of scrap metal that are nowhere near your weight limit.
i had a container filled with scrap alloy wheels from cars, the payload was only around 11 tonne which put me around 28 to 29 tonne gross
we also fill them with scrap household cable, with this, it will normally run between 43 and 44 tonne gross.
i have also weighed out over 44 tonne with waste paper, so had to get some taken off.
it is easy to judge people without knowing the full facts.
I’m glad you’re ok mate. I’ve learnt somethnig from this thread, and that is the possibility of slow speed rollovers and the vulnerability of scrap metal loads. I’d never have thought about that.
Down at the end of the A43, past Brackley, at junction ten of the M40, there are two or three particularly tight roundabouts and lorries going over tend to be a weekly occurence. So much so that they have installed signs that detect lorries and light up a very bright picture of a lorry going over as a warning. It never stops them going over though. I always assumed it was bad driving, or speeding, but now I’ve learnt not to judge so harshly now that I’ve learnt about low speed rollovers.
I can’t imagine those few seconds of sheer terror as you know you’re going over. Once again, glad you’re ok mate and I hope you haven’t lost your job.
Good luck with your boss.
