Always thought the Warrior had that bit of a “Yank” look to it, with the split screen & the double-chrome bumper, chrome headlight surround/grill etc.

Nice new Invincible MkIII, yet to have its chrome bumper fitted.

Those early tri-axles never really caught on even though the idea was sound,in practice they wern’t a success was it because they were too short a wheelbase and scrubbed the tyres badly because of this fact.Cheers Bewick.

Dee Valley Transport must have been one of the 1st fleets to fit all the shiny bits to their wagons, always looked smart though

Remove the BS and thats the motor for me :sunglasses: I wonder what engine it had under the bonnet ? probably a Turner 5 speed and a single driving Eaton 2 speed axle though.Great shot, made my day (I know I’m a sad ■■■■ ) Cheers Bewick.

Hi Bewick, it didn’t say what engine was in it unfortunately! every pic I’ve seen of Dee Valley their wagons always had the wheel trims/spots/air horns etc etc, I have read in a couple of articles about them that they were a good employer & looked after their drivers well  . I like the look of it myself & would have been happy if it had been my wagon  . Regards Chris

hello adr , Dee valley a very smart missed fleet , that Guy did a lot of margerine work for Van den Burghs . I think that was the only Warrier they had . There was some early Invincibles with Willenhall cabs before going overto Fodens thank you Trevor

No Dennis, it was a small AEC, single drive, 5 speed Turner. Lovely company, they worked in with my family on traffic. WE kept the European…how exotic, but it got me away from Liverpool!!!.

I think that we got them onto Mr Foden…but then of course Mr Volvo!!!

Yes they had Willenhall cab Guy/ AECs, (that was what they really were, John Bowler was Guys chief engineer before he moved to AEC…and tought those Southerners how to build a proper lorry)!!!

Blooming difficult place to reverse into Dee Valleys on the A5, …particularly with “armstrong” steering…I`ve got to have a Bollinger…the memories made me tired!

Cheerio for now.
