It would be good if the Police had some vans fitted with cutting-edge technology that would allow them to spot all the people shooting and stabbing each other in London.
They have the cutting edge lol in relation to knives, technology, called eyes, but when they use them, they get accused of racism when they stop the people most likely to be carrying
Yes,very true. When can we get rid of him and restore law and order in the capital…
Guys this is how speed radar cars are in Calgary Canada, Hope this works below and you all can see and the Canadain drivers think these are awful

It’s a moot point because with the range of the laser video cam tech that they are using has got you by the time you’ve seen it and reacted to it.

Speeding Fine
A form of voluntary taxation.
Those who feel lucky, or who feel the law doesnt apply to them, are able to increase their level of personal tax by driving at speeds in excess of the legal limits. . See also *"Don
t wanna to the time>Don`t do the crime"* and “Whingers”
This all day.
Safety camera partnerships ie: camera vans and speed awareness courses are self funded by the fees you pay to attend the course and be told how naughty you are.
IF the public chose to take the fine/points then the safety camera partnerships would be starved of revenue and the number of cameras would start to decrease.

Dunno if it`d work like that.
If fines (and points which all that entails) were chosen then maybe the vans would be funded by the increased income from fines fines?
And who would choose fines and points in order to possibly save another law breaker later on? Isn`t an awareness course a better choice for many?
Count yourself lucky, over Easter points are doubled here in nsw….

Not so sure about that. I did one a few years since and it was utterly dire. As bad as a days DCPC every time. I’d probably take the points if theres a next time.
Carryfast:
As opposed to artificially arbitrarily reduced speed limits and strategically placed speed traps for only two logical conclusions.
A stated aim of reducing the incentive for road travel. With the win win of revenue raising to do it.

Catch up funding from central government will be delayed by several years, which means the partnerships would be killed off before they could become substanable again

I don’t believe it would pan out like that, it’s too easy for police to use speed cameras as a way to hit their targets to show they’re “doing their job”. Even something as simple as apprehending some idiot wheely-ing on his bike while taunting them is too much like effort.
Car drivers might think it’s worth considering taking points instead of doing one of their patronising courses, but there’s no sound reason for an HGV driver to choose that, any decent TM will tell you that they are obliged to inform the TC about you getting points, but not if you choose the course.
EDIT: anticipating the responses to that:
Accepting a fixed penalty (e.g. a speeding ticket or a fixed penalty for careless driving) is not a criminal conviction. But a fixed penalty is recorded on the Police National Computer under local information. A fixed penalty must be declared just like a conviction until the rules in the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 say that it is spent.

Because of that it falls inside the list of things that a TM needs to report to the TC within 28 days

I guess it means all those who are part of and who support this agenda of reducing speed limits to unreasonable levels with the intention of criminalising drivers.
Having never participated in a speed awareness course, I’m just wondering if it is a requirement to be able to speak English in order to complete the course?

On the course I did the ‘instructor’ halted the cession as a Polish lady was obviously struggling to understand the course and told her she would have to reapply and have someone with her who could interpret for her. Having said that I struggled to understand some of his meanderings and had to stop myself from correcting him a couple of times but it was better than taking the points!

Ah thanks for that, makes sense to be made to understand the content of the course and not just attend and go away uneducated and as incompetent as before participating.

Made to understand English by way of an interpreter on a speed awareness course makes it worthwhile and logical …but on the other hand, yes you guessed it lol, how the hell is the DCPC course worthwhile to Johnny foreigner who speaks little or no English? Biggest pi55 take is that Johnny then becomes professionally competent, what a total and utter illogical sham…
